Hi, I am going to china in a few weeks, and was hoping to bring my laptop to watch movies on the plane, and phone so I can get an esim and pay with Alipay.
Does anyone know what the realistic risk is of my phone / laptop being taken at the airport and me being forced to unlock them / download software onto them? I don't work for any government organization, though I am a software engineer (not sure if that is a red flag in customs for some reason). Also, am an American citizen.
