I am from India planning to invest in small cap and mid cap funds.l, but somehow I don't why but I feel that market is pretty bullish now. India has elections in May as a result of which I am pretty nervous of investing. My Targets are Quant small cap and mid cap fund both. Can everyone please guide me. You can even suggest you options if you feel that are more beneficial than quant funds. submitted by /u/EveningNectarine3134 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone, new investor here planning to invest 15k per month in mutual funds in which 6-7k would be for 5-6 years(could take risk for better returns), rest will be for 20 years plus and will annually increase the investment by 20%. What mutual funds should I go with (it would be great if someone would suggest me the names but if not what criterias should I look for to select them and how many)? Complete beginner here, kindly make it as detailed as possible or if you could cite some reading material/ genuinely good youtube videos, I'm ready to do that as well? Thank you in advance. submitt ..read more

Attaching my portfolio for your review. I started investing around 5-6 years back but the amounts were very small. My father is a banker and therefore suggested to save using FDs. Took out a major portion of the portfolio during covid because of uncertainty around life and economic conditions. Restarted investing around 2 years back, again with small amounts but now I have raised my SIPs value and even invest lumpsum amount sometimes. Please review and provide your feedback. Investment horizon is long since I'm 31M, married with no kids. submitted by /u/Significant_Feed_691 [visit reddit ..read more

Checklist for adding a particular fund to our portfolio?

I basically get confused on which mutual fund to pick out from a plethora of options available in market. Also, different websites give different rankings to them making things more difficult for me. So, I wanted to understand what all things to consider to pick a mutual fund and add it to my portfolio. Another follow up question is that, let's say somehow I picked a fund today, but a better fund got launched at a later point in time. Then what to do? SWP all my money from the first fund to the second one? Is that the right strategy? submitted by /u/rama_rahul [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I started investing 2 years back and did it mostly to save taxes and hence so many ELSS funds. I can now invest another 20k/month and take it to 50k/month. I am planning to add 2-3 more fund like Nifty next 50, Quant small cap and Nifty 200 momentum index funds. Do let me know how should I get this diversified and stop some mutual funds if needed. P.S: I have limited knowledge about investing hence so many MFs. submitted by /u/BrigadierPratap [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does anyone even look at ratios these days

Just curious to see almost no post mentioning any ratios as one of the factors for selecting a fund. AMC investment philosophy, style is also mentioned very less. Seen people casually suggesting some of very high P/E funds even when comparing to underlying index and industry. I know PE in MF should be looked at differently when compared to PE in shares. Some suggestions here and there mention sharpe or alpha or SD. Feels like some of the people are entering markets recently with incorrect expectations and solely based on past performance alone. Bet some of the recent sip review posts don't ev ..read more
