I just inherited this drill, which is very old but in excellent conditions. I estimate it might be 50 years old if not more.
It’s not a real drill press, rather a drill on a stand. It’s super heavy and quite stable.
I plugged it in and it works fine, with just a slight rattling noise which might indicate lack of grease. It runs slow but seems to have a decent amount of torque.
I would be glad to actually use it the way it was intended, rather than keep it as a show piece. I’m mostly doing sporadic wood work and a few metal holes, nothing too demanding. I’m currently using a shitty stand w ..read more

Got it a while ago, the old man I got it from said it probably hasn't been used in about 50 years. Finally got it all ready, made a table, worked out the belts, and got the motor wired up - still works and runs really nice. Should be a good little lathe for several more years. The guy I got it from was very happy to see it going again
