Nearly every year I add a new cardigan to my closet. This is the cardigan to wear in cold weather over any outfit! The hardest part for me when I find one I like is figuring out which color, especially since so many come with over 20 options to choose from now.  I love the relaxed fit of this one – looks great with jeans, work pants, jumpsuits, skirts, and dresses! I noticed just how much I’ve worn it AND gotten a picture to share. It has been a good staple for me this year. Here’s some inspo for how to wear it 4 ways! *This post contains affiliate links. Happy New Year, all! January usually comes with a lot of reflection on the past year, and a lot of dreaming and hoping for the new one. How does the new year feel to you? I am ready, but plan to just take things one step, one item on a list, and/or one day at a time and do the best I can with each. To be honest, I think this past year I was able to stick to the biggest goal I’ve ever set for myself for the first time. If you’ve followed me on Instagram, you know I started working out with a personal trainer and from April 2021- October of 2022, and intentionally added going to the gym 3-4xs a ..read more

Happy Thanksgiving weekend, everyone! I feel beyond blessed that my MOM is here with us for the holiday again! Her visit has been filled with working at my school together, shopping, brunching, cooking & eating good food, watching the Thanksgiving Day parade, football, and getting started on our Christmas decorating TOGETHER. On thanksgiving night, we halted all of the light stringing and box opening to enjoy a slice of apple pie and watch Trains, Planes, & Automobiles! (The first of MANY holiday movies we will have on the next couple of days!) I did a lot of “Black Friday” Christmas s ..read more

Who is in the holiday shopping mode? I am! Thanksgiving is less than a week away, which means Christmas and our winter holidays are right around the corner, too! Time flies this time of year, so I want to soak in all of the music, activities, and bustle the season brings, especially because we always hold off on making the house a winter wonderland until after Thanksgiving dinner. (Who else still waits?) Every year as December creeps closer, Eric and I both enjoy finding the perfect things for our loved ones. We typically Outlet shop at Tanger because they have such great deals, and then finis ..read more

My Health and Workout Journey

A year and a half has gone by, and I knew the day would come where I’d sit down and talk about where I was, where I went, and where I’m going in my health journey. That’s right – a girl who was scared of going to the gym alone is now a year and a half down that road thanks to my husband Eric and my trainer Deanna (Team Metamorphosis Fitness Coaching). Here’s my story. BEGINNING I’m not really a ‘workout’ person and have never really been a consistent gym-goer. If I’m being completely honest with myself, my gym experiences in the past were usually filled with fear. I was fearful of what others ..read more

8 Ways to Wear a Shacket

Last year when I finally got a shacket, I decided to do a “shacket style session.” When I debated on jumping on this shacket trend, I started googling them for outfit inspiration. I mean, if you can’t wear it much, is it worth the money? Is it worth taking up closet space? Figuring out whether to get a plaid one, buffalo check one, or just a neutral one was a tough decision. Ultimately, it came down to having it go with staples in my closet like solid colors, and a lot of black and white. If your closet has a favorite pair of black jeans, blue jeans, a black dress, boots or booties, leggings ..read more

Implementing learning centers in Kindergarten is imperative in order to run successful intervention groups and/or reading groups. Over the years I’ve learned a lot through trial and error when it comes to planning and storing my centers. I have finally fine-tuned how they’re run and really love how easily I can switch out the center materials plus give easy access the students to pick their learning activity. *This post contains an affiliate link. Happy New Year, all! January often comes with a lot of reflection on the year we are leaving, and a lot of dreaming and hope for the year we are entering. In the midst of resolving to set, change, and attain goals each month in 2022, I immediately thought of what areas I ‘pour’ my energy and life into: my marriage, my family/friends, my job, and my hobbies. Since 2020, I’ve had influences and difficulties come through my life that have caused a shift in where I spend my time. I intentionally added in a goal of some ‘me’ time at the gym 3-4xs a week so that overall, I can be better and do more ..read more
