Brenda was admired as a compassionate, cheerful, and ‘wonderful woman’ by all who knew her. She was a daughter, a mother, and a wife to her loving husband Richard for 63 delightful years. Brenda, a talented and musical lady, found much joy in singing, winning multiple awards in her youth for solo and quartet performances. Wherever life took Brenda, from Birmingham to Cambridge to Liverpool, she ‘spared no effort in ensuring success’ in all her endeavours. She was only 37 years old when she was murdered. Jill, herself from Weston-super-Mare, readily agreed to become the Patron of Weston Hospicecare in 1996 and headed up an appeal to fund a much-needed In-Patient Unit. Les Fake, who was the Chair of the charity at the time remembers, “Jill’s visits brought a ray of sunshine to Weston Hospicecare. She brought happiness and her inimitable ‘girl next door ..read more
