I have the Creality 5w laser add-on attached to my Ender 3 v2 Neo, running Lightburn on an Ubuntu laptop for the actual engraving/cuttin. I would love to add a Lightburn camera to help with lining things up for engraving, but I haven't been able to find anything on how or if this is possible with a bed slinger setup. Is it possible, and has anyone accomplished it? Hello All, I have done a lot of 3D printing and want to move on to laser cutting and engraving. My hopes are to cut transparent, translucent, and solid colored acrylic up to 3mm thick. I am just starting my journey on this and am sure there is plenty more I need to research, but it is my understanding that I need to use a CO2 laser for this. From what little I have seen, it looks like Omnitech is a good brand with some good entry level machines. Hello, My work has an OpenBuilds ACRO that they don't need anymore and I was thinking of hooking a laser up to it for personal use. However, I don't know anything about what lasers are appropriate for which applications. I think I would start just etching patterns into wood to make coasters or something like that. I also might be interested in cutting acrylic. Does anyone have any recommendations for an affordable versatile laser, or a good resource where I could research this further? I’ve been looking around for test cut patters I can use to work out my speeds and powers for engraving and cutting 3mm mdf but I am find a mixed bag. M1 xtool is cutting a line next to my engraving and we can’t figure out why. I made the same design the day before perfectly and didn’t change any settings. Tried different designs and it’s doing it to all of them so figured it’s a machine issue and not my designs.
