What year would the non-magic folk have enough technology to find out about the magic world?

My friend introduced me to the idea, but basically if non magic people would continue at a steady pace of technology and advancement. Eventually enough sensors, and disturbances would show the existence of magic. Perhaps in 2300, when non-magic people have technology a man can barely dream of, would magic even still be a thing? Also in the books I'm pretty sure it said in magic areas technology wouldn't work sooo idk. I'm looking for others opinions on this submitted by /u/Special_Safe7148 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The new Harry Potter series is a great thing!

I know a lot of people don't think the new series is a good idea but I am SO excited. I constantly listen to the audiobooks (to the point that I can remember what is/isn't in the movies) and just think to see them in their entirety is so amazing. I also think that it opens a lot of doors to new series that the random have been calling for. Marauders, founders etc as these aren't included really in the movies. POA movie misses out the marauders stuff which could eventually be build upon. I hope they also use the stuff from pottermore to expand the story line (would love to see tonks & lupi ..read more

Hermione grabbed Hagrid’s arms - HOW?

This is so silly but in PS when they’re in the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid, when the text says «Hermione grabbed Hagrid’s arms». I just find it hilarious to imagine tiny first-year Hermione stretching and trying to grab both if Hagrid’s massive arms to warn him, even though it is highliy impractical. Or am I imagining Hagrid as larger than he is? It would have made more sense to me visually for her to grab ONE arm. Right? Just me?? submitted by /u/atthebarricades [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I can't seem to find this Wizarding journal from Hallmark made in 2000 anywhere online. I have seen the similar quidditch one. I was inquiring into the current price of it. submitted by /u/Wylie688 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What's special about the Deathly Hallows cloak?

Harry's cloak is the 3rd item from the Deathly Hallows. In the saga there are some other examples of invisibility cloak. So the question is: Why is this cloak special and what is the difference between this cloak and any other regular invisibility cloak? I mean, it could be more 'powerful' in terms of invisibility, but Moody's magic eye can see through it as any other cloak. submitted by /u/ElRevelde1094 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What was Harry's bravest moment in the entire series?

Harry is easily the bravest character in the entire series and he has had his share of brave, if not downright stupid or reckless moments, but what was his most fearless moment? For me it was : From Goblet of Fire Harry crouched behind the headstone and knew the end had come. There was no hope . . . no help to be had. And as he heard Voldemort draw nearer still, he knew one thing only, and it was beyond fear or reason: He was not going to die crouching here like a child playing hide-and-seek; he was not going to die kneeling at Voldemort’s feet . . . he was going to die upright like his fathe ..read more
