March has us sloshing in our galoshes here. It’s been raining part of just about every day lately. The temps are climbing too, averaging 40+ days now. My daffodils are up about 6″ and starting to get buds, Lillie’s are starting to rise, as are bearded irises. The forcythia bushes have tiny yellow buds, looks like we may have a better flowering year with them this season. Last year was ok, but 2022 was horrible. NO flowering at all on the forcythias! It’s the start of February 2024 and that time of winter in New England that we who suffer with the winter doldrums try hard to look forward to longer, warmer and more active days outside. Hating cold weather and the lack of proper amounts of sunshine cause me to have a seasonal affective disorder that I must be conscious of that it won’t spiral into depression. While I do deal with depression I have it pretty well subdued with medication and meditation exercises. I FINALLY am on the right dosages of my medications, which has made a radical difference. It’s finally in the can, as the old movie saying goes. 2022 mid-term elections are over. O.V.E.R. Damn, it felt like forever getting to Nov. 8, 2022.
