Hi! A tourism company of my region wants to buy different photos from me . About 30 photos of 3 different events I photographed. . The use will be social networks, blog and website. Also the right of assignment to third parties like media news or other companies (as an image bank). They manage an annual budget of 100,000 euros for audiovisual content, to get an idea of the size of the company. I don't know exactly how much to charge for these photographs, I don't want to be short or overpriced. I am grateful for any help. submitted by /u/diegxart [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Go see “Civil War”

I just got out of the theatre, and holy cow - Civil War may be the best film I’ve seen this century. It’s amazing. Don’t go if you have a weak stomach. I knew going in that it was told through the eyes of a crew of journalists and photojournalists, but I had no idea that it was a love letter to photojournalism and photography in general. Everything is there. The horror of war told through the deadened eyes of the veteran war correspondents, and the toll it takes even on them. The risks they take. The role they play. Their power and impotence to shape history and the future. The power and the ..read more

Tomorrow is my first day shooting a committee hearing and I was curious about the process of getting photos off the camera onto a phone or laptop of the reporters quickly. Since I am under the assumption I can’t use my phone in the well I’m unsure of how to go about this other than the breaks? I have a Sony a7IV for reference submitted by /u/GabbySplaver [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Photogs who shot on film back in the day, what did you do if you didn't finish a roll of film but needed the pictures in it turned around quickly, did you just develop the whole roll and lose some of the exposures?

Wild Art or Street Photography

All you old photo dogs like me. Do you remember the days when an editor would come in to the photo room in a panic saying something like, "I've got a gigantic space to fill in tomorrow's paper! Anyone got some wild art we can put in there!?" I've been thinking about that term "wild art". The only times I hear that anymore is about shooting pics of wild animals. Now I hear talk about street photography and am wondering if you would consider those two types of shooting as synonymous terms? I recently had someone suggest that some of my work is street photography which doesn't bother me. Just tr ..read more

I’m strongly considering using the rest of my GI bill for photojournalism/journalism. I’m currently in the DFW area and was wondering about jobs after school. I’m bilingual (Spanish) and I’m just looking for advice/tips. submitted by /u/mobueno [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
