Kids and phones.

I hate the idea of kids having phones and it absolutely flabbergasts me how many kids have phones with little to now restrictions on them. I have friends who let there kids have their phones in their rooms, have TikTok and other socials, and just generally don’t worry about their kids and phone use. I have a 14 yo daughter who had a phone but has lost it and I have no desire to give it back. She lost it in October for bullying a classmate and for just lying about her phone use since the day she had it. She was deleting messages the very first day she had her phone and the bullying started pre ..read more

Played Guitar Too loud

My son is 3 months and 1 week. He loves when I play my acoustic guitar for him. Yesterday he was in his crib and I was standing over him playing and I got lost in the music and was strumming pretty hard. He was very happy and cooing and laughing but when I was done I started panicking about his hearing. He seems fine. Still a happy sleepy baby. Should I be really worried? I feel like a piece of crap about it submitted by /u/Slow-Payment8401 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Dads of Reddit I need your help, please give my partner and LOs dad a reality check

This is partly a rant and partly a cry for help as honestly I don’t know what else to do at this point. I’m on maternity leave and my partner is working full time. His shifts are 12/13hrs long (sometimes 60+ hrs a week) and his job involves some physical labor and being on and off his feet. He chooses his available days for work and gets allocated shifts for the month in advance. I’ve never once shown or expressed that I don’t appreciate how hard he works however he constantly brings up how many hours he works to compare to me being at home. He doesn’t seem to grasp my days are also 12hrs+ lo ..read more

My wife woke up in a bad mood because I cheated on her in her dreams. This is not the first time this has happened. I have never had a dream of her cheating on me and I was wondering if this was a wife thing only or do husbands experience it as well. P.S I’m lucky she doesn’t hold dream me’s actions against irl me. submitted by /u/Footdad124 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I was dropping my 2 yo at daycare, when a teacher parked her car next to me. she had her windows down (it 50F degrees) and the smell was over powering as soon as I got out of my car. Brought my kid in, put her stuff away. Saw the young women now in the school and I can smell weed on her. I left but I could smell weed in the vestibule of the school. I later text another parent if she smelled anything and she confirmed. On one hand, I dont really care if teacher's smoke. Our school is chronically short handed, losing a teacher will impact that class,. I also feel conflicted about potentially ge ..read more

I just needed to get this off my chest and out into the universe. I can relate to a bunch of what you fellas post in here. I see you. You are not alone... Before I begin, I know I'm not perfect, I know I've made mistakes, I can empathize with my wife and what she's feeling, and that I might being doing things that exacerbate how she's feeling, I get it. I truly do, but I just feel like I am the only one who gives a shit emotionally around here, and I'm spent. I'm going to be a little bit vague in what I'm about to describe because should my wife ever find out I shared this...well yeah...but s ..read more

Hey dads, I know lots of us do a lot of cooking, and coming up with meal plans is stressful. I'm still getting used to cooking for 3 instead of 2, and someday I'll hopefully be cooking for 4. I'm interested in your go-to's, your easy-and-lots-of-leftovers', or your freezes-well's. Bonus points for healthy, easy recipe, and vegetables that kids will eat. Here's my contribution: Yogurt blueberry pancakes: 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup old fashioned oats 1/2 tablespoon sugar (maybe 2 tsp? don't need much) 1 and 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup whole fat plain yogu ..read more
