“As a parent it is easy to feel like we are getting it all wrong, all the time. There are no perfect moms, there’s just moms who need Jesus. And there’s grace for us here.” The enemy would love for us and our kids to constantly compare ourselves to others and neglect our true identities that are found in Christ. Today Shannon Popkin and Lee Nienhuis return to the podcast to share about their soon to release book, “Comparison Girl for Teens.” They remind us of a better way, the Jesus way, to live and see others. There is so much more joy and freedom found in His way. The Moms in Prayer Podcast ..read more

Moms In Prayer Blog

“We wanted to give women permission to say all the things. That they don’t have to pretty themselves up before they come to the Lord; they can come to Him with all their yuck.” Hillary Morgan Ferrer, founder of Mama Bear Apologetics, and Julie Loos, who has served in Moms in Prayer for over 20 years, share about their newest book, “Honest Prayers for Mama Bears.” God wants us to bring our whole, true selves to Him and lay our hearts and burdens before Him. Fear Out, Peace In: What Rattlesnakes & Prayer Have in Common
Moms In Prayer Blog

As one of our most popular blogs a couple years ago, we are reposting for those who haven’t read it yet and for those who have, as a reminder that God provides peace; we just need to let it in and give it a home in our hearts. When my husband and I were newly married, we lived in a quaint country home in the small town of Echo, Alabama, population 1,968. Our only neighbor for half a mile was the music minister at our church and most of the views in Echo were of cotton fields, cow pastures, and large chicken houses. Country living had its perks. There were no sirens or noisy neighbors and night ..read more

When children are little, the Easter season is such a precious time. Churches host Easter egg hunts on grassy lawns, where tiny hands excitedly reach for colorful eggs. In the Sundays leading up to Easter, palm branches are waved through hallways and aisles of churches while the children sing “Hosanna.” Crafts that symbolize Christ’s empty tomb are constructed, to aid tiny eyes in visualizing the miracle of His resurrection. Children are taught about who Jesus is, how He lived, how He loved, and how He died for us. Humility Budding hearts and minds may not be able to fully understand the magni ..read more

Dealing with a Bully One night before school, when my oldest son, Grayson, was in kindergarten, he told me about a student who was bullying him and other kids. My son confided in me that he was scared to go to school because he felt sought after by this boy. The next day was See You at the Pole school prayer. I made a plan to drop Grayson off at the playground and I stayed by the pole in case other parents wanted to pray together. As I was waiting at the flag pole, I heard a scream coming from the playground that sounded like Grayson. It WAS Grayson! I ran over to him to find that this boy he ..read more

When The Mountains Don’t Move
Moms In Prayer Blog

The first time I learned about the practice of praying Scripture for my children was at a Bible study when my boys were little. Both my sons had received several diagnoses that kept me busy with their never-ending appointments and left me struggling with chronic anxiety. I prayed and prayed for my boys. Mainly for them to be healed. To start talking. To acquire the next milestone in their development. And for my own heart and mind to be at peace. I believed the words of Mark 11:23, that with faith my prayers could move mountains. When the mountains I was praying for didn’t move, I found ..read more
