Viticulture rules clarification

Could someone help setting a debate please? In Viticulture the Exporter visitor has an option for Fill an Order. Does this mean I can just fill any order in my hand outright without the required wine in my cellar or is it just a visitor version of the Fill action and I'm required to fill from my cellars as normal? I cant find any clarification in their FAQ and I can honestly see both sides. On one had it makes it a powerful card to allow you to just blanket fill an order, on the other hand many visitors do just let you perform board actions that could be blocked otherwise. Thanks all! submit ..read more

What are some unexpected items you've repurposed to enhance your gaming experience?

For example, I use the empty lid of a game box as a dice tray, which works perfectly and save some money. Similarly, instead of investing in an expensive table topper with a neoprene mat, I've opted for a simple 72"x30" folding table covered with a $20 tablecloth from Target which also works just fine. Have you discovered any other "hacks" like these? submitted by /u/RoughRiders9 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I'm stumped

I'm trying to figure out the name of a board game I've played previously. It was a game in which players each had rows of cards they kept in a tray standing up facing only them. These cards contained descriptive words often adjectives. Every turn a player would add one of their cards in the center making the list of adjectives/descriptive words longer. Each player was meant to think of something that fit the description of each of the adjectives. (For example if you had slimy, venomous, cold blooded, and dangerous, you could say those describe a snake). After someone placed down a card everyo ..read more

Hopefully this doesn't break any rules. I believe I have contributed enough posts, and this is my first post about Waddle Waddle in many many months. Waddle Waddle, my first attempt at crowdfunding a board game is live on GameFound and is about 75% funded with about 9 days left. You can view the campaign here: Waddle on GameFound Waddle Waddle is a game about penguin conservation that I created after going to Antarctica in late 2022. It features my photos of penguins in the wild and the photos of my friends Craig and Lauren. Craig passed from cancer a couple of years ago, so this game is also ..read more

Revamping "Pigment"

Hello! A few years back I published my first boardgame, a gateway worker placement game about Renaissance painters who have run out of paint, called Pigment. Pigment sold well, following the Kickstarter, despite only being in a handful of stores and at a few convention booth appearances. It released in Q2 2018, and sold out by 2020. Now it's 2024, and I am working on a "bigger" version, since the biggest feedback I got was "it needs more to be more replayable". My big annoyance with the game was that it's only 1-3 players, but that's easy to fix with more paintings and a wider variety of Baza ..read more

Question about Terra Mystica for veteran, good players.

So I've done a lot of research about this game, and there's a complaint among high level players that the game is pretty "solved" at turn one. Your faction choice, tile placement and gameplan have all the variance in your victory apparently, and the winner is apparent at high level games around this time. If you play with random factions, does that alleviate this problem? It seems like there would still be best suited factions even if distributed to each player randomly and that would still be unfair. When I play a board game, or online video game, I study it and put hundreds of hours into it ..read more
