The purpose of B.M.W. is to provide emotional support and information to women who are/were officially affiliated with the DoD branches of the United States Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Navy or Marine Corps).

“Home sweet home” is a phrase that doesn’t always apply to military families when visiting our hometowns. After traveling to (and living in) so many different places, one’s perspective of home might shift. During our time away, the community and/or our loved ones can change…And, so can we, as we embark upon unfamiliar territories.

Homeschooling for many Black families existed long before the Covid-19 pandemic inspired some parents to educate their own children (full-time). For some Black veteran homeschoolers, the journey of homeschooling is certainly the road less traveled. Despite being treated as social pariahs before “school at home” became the norm, there was as rare group of Black families who took full control of their children’s education as homeschoolers.
