Witch House/ Hardwave Hardware

I have been producing music for about a year using Ableton and Serum/Diva for my synths. I am looking to get a couple pieces of hardware to use to jam out ideas and record with. Personally, tinkering with the soft synths is fine but playing an actual instrument is more inspiring for me. I tend to spark ideas while simply playing the piano or guitar. Would the Korg Minilogue XD and a drum machine such as the Arturia Drumbrute or Roland TR8-S be a good combo to dip my toes into hardware? submitted by /u/alex_volkov [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Don't Mono Your Bass! Here's Why Your EDM Tracks Deserve a Wide, Lush Low End.

First off, I've noticed a concerning trend: too many people in this sub are parroting misinformation they've picked up from uneducated YouTubers, treating it as gospel truth. This blind acceptance of questionable advice not only hinders individual growth but also perpetuates myths and misconceptions within our community. It's time to encourage critical thinking and fact-checking before taking anything at face value!!! Earlier I shared a truth to a fellow redditor who asked about mono low end, only to be downvoted by those very individuals discussed above. Below I have included 3 resources fro ..read more

Hello. Does anyone know how to get a result similar to the robotic vocals at the start of this song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEcwmIUPOgs I don't actually know if it is Vocaloid as I have no experience using or creating music with it. submitted by /u/maeilum-buu [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Can someone with a Mackie Mix12FX help me out

I returned a Mackie Mix8 and got a Mix12FX instead for the extra channels. I immediately ran into an issue: On the Mix8, pressing "Tape to CR/Phones" button mutes the main mix, so you can monitor the "Tape In" signal without interference. But my Mix12FX does not mute the main mix when pressing this same button. Consequently, if my PC is connected via Tape In/Out, it is impossible to listen to the processed mix in the DAW without either hearing the raw signal on top of it, or creating a feedback loop. So here's the kicker. I created a support ticket, certain that my unit had a problem. And I w ..read more

These guy absolutely kill it, love their music, but why do you think they got the success they have? Were they in a right place at the right time situation? Was it the people they know? Did they blow up on social media? There’s a lot of talented producers out there, myself included, that are just looking for an opportunity to blow up like these guys did. How do you think they got their success? submitted by /u/SadBenefit2020 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is the Soundcloud quality actually worse than Youtube and other streaming platforms?

I listenedd to a few of my old tracks on soundcloud and they sounded like crap. Checked the same tracks on Youtube and they actually seemed to be relatively alright. All uploaded as 24-bit WAV files. I listened to some pro tunes and they seemed to be sounding a little worse as well. Idk if I am just overthinking this. submitted by /u/KLVLV [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

AI music

I’ve been seeing posts and comments in a variety of subs talking about AI generated tracks. I think it’s terrifying how many people are willing to swan dive into a reality where the human experience is further flatlined by artificially generated crap. The process of developing an artistic skill and creating something that inspires other people is one of the most sacred things about our reality. There is still quite a bit of backlash to AI, but every day there seems to be more and more people who have no problem calling themselves artists who are just entering prompts. Tech companies seem hell ..read more
