Who are you? Label name: Riot Records / Founder: Georgie Riot What’s your ethos? We focus on celebrating unique electronic dance music from independent artists, which reflects the era we live in. Tell us your origin story? I started the label because I wanted to have creative freedom over the music I release myself as an artist. I found that I was spending a lot of time waiting for other labels to listen to my demos and reply to emails. I also wanted to celebrate other artists who make music that doesn’t quite fit into one box so to speak. Where are you based? I personally am from Coventry. H ..read more

Studio Survival- Original Sin

I’ve been making music for a long time now and in that time I’ve had a few different studio setups. One was almost completely analogue and others have been either hybrid or totally in the box. My preferred setup for speed and ease of use is in the box but they all had their merits.  That said, one of my favourite pieces of studio gear is the Roland VP-03. Currently I own the Behringer VC340 which is an analogue re-creation of this classic string ensemble and vocoder from the late 70’s. I discovered it while studying Vangelis, something I’ve done multiple times at different points in time ..read more

It Doesn’t Have To Be International Women’s Day To Talk About Women
UKF

Here at UKF we wholeheartedly believe women should be celebrated for their talents, not just to fill up a diversity quota. We are steadfast in our mission for authenticity and recognition for everybody who creates within the bass music sphere. Women deserve to stand on stages illuminated by their own brilliance, not as tokens of diversity, but as masters of their craft. While strides have been made toward inclusivity and representation, the journey towards equality remains ongoing. “Women are underrepresented in key roles in the music industry. Positions of authority, from senior leadership th ..read more
