nappyafro.com was born on January 15, 2007 and was made because King Jerm & B-Easy wanted to debate and dissect Hip-Hop with a audience outside of work, the block, & the barbershop. Be it talking about sports, professional wrestling, movies, and all of the above, we always try to come at it with a Hip-Hop angle.

This edition of Notable Tracks carries a somber tone. I’ve selected two songs this week as a tribute to recently departed artists, as well as one song that reflects on Hip-Hop’s current landscape of beefs (which, I’m sure you’ll be able to distinguish). Let’s dive in.
The Notorious B.I.G. – “Real Niggaz”
R.I.P. Mister Cee. As the DJ who basically helped discover The Notorious B.I.G. (and executive produced his first album, Ready To Die), I felt it was only right to feature a track that I first heard on Mister Cee’s The Best Of Notorious B.I.G. mixtape, “Real Niggaz”.
I’ve been listening to ..read more

Originally, I was going to post Tyra B’s “Country Boy” since Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter has turned the spotlight on Black country singers. S/O to Shreveport’s own Willie Jones. I wanted to pay homage to the Virginia singer for showing love to the dudes in dirty jeans and dusty boots back in the day; 2005. Instead, I’ll share a ballad to slow things down to have a moment of reflection to appreciate those we have or lost in our lives. Enjoy. Have a good week! Happy Sunday ..read more

Olayemi Olurin is a Political Commentator and Lawyer. I ain’t know none of that. I just be following people on Twitter that entertain/educate me. When she shared a trailer last year, announcing her YouTube channel, I subscribed immediately. She started with videos about why Trump isn’t going to jail, the mistreatment of Angel Reese online and in the media (glad, that’s over, right?), and the incompetence of New York Mayor, Eric Adams. I was happy to see a full-circle moment where Ms. Olay was able to converse with Mayor Adams on the Breakfast Club two weeks ago.
For the last three weeks, f ..read more

Rick Ross is the first to respond to Drake’s “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me Fifty)”.
To be honest, most of “Champagne Moments” is Rozay just rapping regular Rozay things that he would normally rap about.
But things get interesting at the end of the song when Rick Ross starts talking and explains his beef with Drake. Mainly, it seems like Drake wouldn’t clear a feature for French Montana’s last album and sent a cease and desist letter. He also mentions that Drake got plastic surgery on his nose (“to make your nose smaller than your father’s nose”) as well as surgery on his stomach (“Yeah, you h ..read more

This is an easy one. Lanazia Greene (aka MaamiNextDoor) is the woman from that PartyNextDoor album cover that you fell in love with (Just like we did). We didn’t have much information on this beauty but then she did an interview with Complex. Check out the pictures below.

Jason Philips once said, “Check this out, Ma. I’m running out of my patience.”
By the way, Mal and Rory have been podding for years now and besides a few clips and their interview with Jermaine Dupri, I have not been following closely. Two hours and 21 minutes passed by as Malakiss, Roryles P, and their co-host Damaris Louch recorded an episode on the levels of the LOX during a Verzuz battle. (Remember those?) Unlike J.Cole, Mal stands by every word he said on this mic and sleeps without any issues ..read more

This episode, there couldn’t have been a better guest to end the latest season of First We Feast’s interview series, Hot Ones.
The Irishman himself, Conan O’ Brian taunts Sean Evans and his little “hot” sauces for a whirlwind convo with a (fake?) personal doctor, the art of comedy, and spice arousal ..read more

Travis Scott has released the music video for his hit song “FE!N,” featuring Playboi Carti. Directed by Gabriel Moses, the visuals can best be described as resembling a full-body scan in a video game, but taken to the next level. Check out the music video below, and then read our album review for Travis Scott’s Utopia ..read more

Do you remember when the music video for 50 Cent’s “I Get Money” came out, with Funkmaster Flex at the beginning saying, “This is the hardest record out!!!”? They should have put that at the beginning of these visuals for “Get It Sexyy” by Sexyy Red. Hard.
In this video, Red takes us back to the days of MySpace pages and long white tees, plus a Soulja Boy cameo. You also see cameos from Adin Ross doing his best American Pie impersonation (I guess all that stuff he said about Sexyy Red was part of the rollout for this video?) and Drake (again) playing Sexy Redd’s love interest. (I assume this ..read more
