This is very interesting.  So far, it has been a warmer than average Winter.  I changed direction about 3 weeks in.  Since this will be a wall hanging, I decided to make each month a column.  This will make 5 additional columns wider and about half the length.  I get the high temperature in the evening and start the next square.  Wake up in the morning and record the low for the previous day.   ..read more

Antiks Snowflake

Hot off the shuttles!  This snowflake is from the Endrucks 1920 Project Facebook page.  It was the November 2023 game of the month (look under the Albums tab).  It is the E42 adaptation by Meenakshi (Muskaan) Jain.  Well done adaptation and diagram.  Did mock picots to climb out until last round (brain and hands would not cooperate with the climb out).  Other notation was using up join and down join for the ANKARS motif.  Lizbeth size 20 in Blue Ice was used. Here is the link for details:  https://m.facebook.com/groups/1235560633606162/permalink/174606 ..read more

The Online Tatting Class held a class on Helix tatting last month.  This is a technique where multiple shuttles are used to make a coil/object.  Richard Embrey is  the inventor for this technique.  Homework for class was to design an item using the Helix technique.  I made a long coil and then carefully stitched together to make a coaster.  Eventually I will tat something to fill the middle.  ..read more

Here are a couple of finished items from 2023 Tat Days.  The earrings still need findings.  They are Beanile tatting.  I love how these turned out.  Picture does not do it justice.  The bird is a bookmark.  This piece used several tatting techniques which made it interesting to tat.        I have several works in progress.  Hopefully will have pictures and make a post this weekend.  There are two doilies and the FB Temperature Tat-Along (that just started for 2024).   ..read more

Life is starting to settle down.  It has been a looooooong 3 years. We finally took a road trip last month.  Visited the last 3 states to complete our 50 State visitation goal.   This is Laura Bziukiewicz’s Tat Along Doily Sabina.  I worked on this as a road trip project.  Used HDT:  green by me and Parakeet by Marilee Rockley-Yarnplayer.  Unfortunately, I was 3 motifs short on the last round when I ran out of thread.  Did not have extra at home and I did not have notes on the green I had made (note to self - do better recording when dyeing). &nb ..read more

Need help please.  Somewhat tatting related.  I have a blog through blog spot.com.  Only use it for tatting.  Using my Mobil phone, I can not seem to reply to any comments made to my posts.  I can publish posts with no problem. Problem is when I try to comment, it wants me to sign into Google.  I click the button, type my login, and it comes back as “not able to sign in to comment.  Check browser configurations to allow sign-in.”  I have check settings and can not figure it out.  Thanks to anyone who can lend assistance ..read more

Hot off the shuttles.  This is from Jan’s book Tatted Treasures, Doily XIV.  Lizbeth size 20, Burnt Sienna.  Love the color.  A good pressing and it will be finished.  It has been great to be tatting on a regular basis again.  Life is finally starting to settle down so I may start concentrating on me again!  Going to start working on unfinished projects I have been setting aside.  I have some kits and/or started projects from 2012ish.  I though I had better start working on them as they are not going to finish themselves.   ..read more
