For those of you who get menstrual migraines without aura, have you found magnesium to be helpful? If so, which type of magnesium are you taking and how much? I've been taking 350 mg mag glycinate every day and it hasn't helped. Do you take it every day or only at certain parts of your cycle? I'm curious about upping my dosage but I'm already taking 4 pills a day and I go through a bottle of pills in no time so I'm not sure if I want to just keep upping my dosage if it's not likely to help me, since I know magnesium doesn't always help for people who don't have auras with their migraines.

Hello everyone, fellow migraine sufferer here for as long as I can remember. Lately, I've been getting more into fitness and have increased my running to 2-3 miles twice a week with weight training in between. I've noticed that when I amp up my running routines, I am likely to get a migraine a few hours after my workout. Is this typical for migraine sufferers? Am I doing something wrong while working out, before, or after? I really enjoy running so I would hate to have to quit, but containing my migraines is my priority. :(
For context, my usual triggers are:

I have been dealing with 4-5 migraines/week for the last 2 years. The cause is that basically every vertebrae (except C1 and C2) in my cervical spine are pretty well jacked up beyond all reason or belief. My insurance has forced me to cycle through more preventative meds than I care to count, and none have helped in the least. For the first few, I'd get so hopeful....and then, having seen no results, I eventually just grew cynical with each new prescription. Today, I went to the doctor again, fully expecting another new but useless pill. But no! My insurance has FINALLY approved injections in ..read more

Anyone have tips/things that have worked to prevent or decrease exertion migraines? I've been getting one every time I start a cardio activity like cycling, tennis, treadmill, and sometimes lower impact activities like pilates.
I'm currently on Emgality for preventative and ubrelvy for abortive, have also tried amitriptyline, proplanalol, topamax, etc etc. I have to exercise regularly for my mental and physical health, out of question to stop, but I tend to do low impact. Thanks.

I’m a 28 year old female and I’ve tried just about everything for my migraines. Right now we are currently waiting for the Vyepti to start working. As of right now I can’t hold down a job, even part time. I’m lucky to have a boyfriend that supports me financially but I hate not being able to contribute. Has anyone found anything migraine friendly that I can make my own schedule?
Edit: I only have a high school degree. I can’t do Uber/Lyft. Has anyone tried TaskRabbit?

Today is a good day for my daughter. Migraine free and no symptoms after 10 symptomatic days. So glad she can catch a break. She’s had almost only symptomatic days for the last four weeks.
How was your day?

I’ve noticed over the years that the combination of alcohol & coffee (tea is fine for some reason, I can drink strong caffeinated tea no problem) causes migraines with aura. I quit drinking alcohol 1.5 years ago & hadn’t had a migraine in just about as long. I have been drinking small amounts of coffee almost daily with no issues. I recently went on vacation & had a few drinks. I stopped drinking once I got home & have had 3 intense migraines in the past 2 weeks, after just a small intake of coffee. Looks like I’ll be quitting coffee for a while again as well. And after my int ..read more
