Psoriasis on elbows

Hi all. I've started to notice these patches on my elbows and wondering if anyone here has recommendations on OTC treatments. If they don't work, happy to consider seeing a doctor/dermatologist. I have tried some moisturizers but they don't seem to make any difference. In terms of my diet, nothing has changed of late and I eat quite well. https://ibb.co/PWkNgFH Appreciate any advice, thanks! submitted by /u/gigsloan [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So, I’ve had really really mild psoriasis compared to lots of people on this subreddit for ten plus years which has never got better but over the last year it’s really kicked off and I have new patches every couple of months including almost full scalp plaques. I decided to let my GP know that this matter needs further attention and hurrah, she agreed. So I have to send photos for her to refer me to a dermatologist at my local hospital. Knowing how long this could take I was kind of disappointed to come home with no prescription for my itchy head. Already using Capsal or Nizarol which has don ..read more

Question: Is lack of treatment for the symptoms of psoriasis actually related to comorbidity risk?

FOR CONTEXT: I was recently diagnosed with Psoriasis, and have since just had a growing and growing flare. I have countless lesions on my lower and upper arms, torso, butt, face, lower legs, thighs, pretty much everywhere except my hands. I've been using the topical (I was instructed to apply it for two weeks, and see... after two weeks some of the original lesions had shrunk but there were probably 4x as many emerging). So its just so out of control I feel like Im basically left having to slather my whole body in this shit, which doesn't seem safe. (my instruction was to dab it only on the l ..read more

I have moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. I use Skirizi every 3 months. Do you guys have psoriasis and really oily hair? So essentially I can wash my hair and when it dries it’s still oily. My doctor said it could be a yeast or fungal infection. I started using ketoconazole 2% and that helps a little. I started blow drying my hair as soon as I get out of the shower and that helped even more. I bought a shampoo of the ketoconazole 1% and a scalp scrub you use once a week to clear out the residue. And I have to use a tiny bit of leave in conditioner on the end of my hair or it’s crispy from t ..read more

I’ve been suffering with psoriasis for the past 6 months now. I am originally from India and currently living in US. Derm suggested various creams like Triamcinolone, Fluocinonide steroid creams and it didn’t get any better. Back in India my mom used to apply Vicco Turmeric cream for any skin infection. So I tried it to experiment and it WORKS WONDERS. Within a week my pain, itch, scaling has gotten better. Surprisingly even their website says it helps with Eczema and psoriasis. I highly recommend testing it on a small patch before using entirely. submitted by /u/Open_Quote_460 [visit reddit ..read more

I have never in my life had acne and have always had a full head of hair. In the last 6 months, I started having skin issues and have lost 50% of my hair. I saw my GP back in Dec. and he prescribed me tretanoin and other topicals like Hydrogen Peroxide. My skin has gotten progressively worse. I sent photos over of my skin and he prescribed me more topicals and an antibiotic. I am starting to think I have Psoriasis. Does anyone’s else’s psoriasis look like this? I used to be a very heavy drinker, I quit drinking and now my problems are worse! I read that excess B vitamins can cause skin issues ..read more

History of itching by Me. Six year saga by now. LONG saga. First I thought it was shingles. I had them in college from stress. Pain was VERY similar. Intermittent with long breaks between. No insane itching and I can sleep. Times of intense itching come back and get longer and although I have no health insurance i went to the doctor for relief. That doctor said it was fungal and I used antifungal topical and took some horrible yellow pill. The topical was in excess of six months and NOPE. Itching is worse one year later so doctor 2. Doctor two says it is bacterial and we do antibiotic oral an ..read more

I used to be sick (flu/cold etc) maybe once a year back in the day. But since my diagnosis in early 2020 (and after staying indoors for covid for a while) ive been falling sick multiple times per year now. Is that a symptom of our auto-immune diesease, or am I just suffering the aftermath of 2 ish years of minimal contact and facemask wearing cuz of Covid? Curious to hear some experiences submitted by /u/Illidank278 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Heavy psoriasis with a sudden twist

I have a very heavy psoriasis since I reached 24 years old. Hair, head, chest, back, legs, arms... This stuff was a nightmare, doctors giving me some heavy medicine such as Daivobet, Temovate, Trianex and all the batch. I hurt my health with this, and back in 2016 I decided to stop all that and let pso live it's own life. On winter this stuff would hurt or be itchy as hell, a constant skin irritation because of the dryness and cold. I'm not even talking about the months when you scratch yourself and bleed. Anyway, two weeks ago a Chinese friend of mine told me he used to have it and he's ..read more
