After more than six months (!), the outdoor areas of bars, cafés and restaurants in Berlin can finally reopen. From May 21st, guests can enjoy a meal and/or a drink in their favorite terraces, following some rules: They must present: a negative corona test not older than 24 hours, a proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination or a positive PCR test that is at least 28 days and no more than six months old.
Also, most of the eateries require reservation. However, you can try your luck and make the registration on the spot. For this, having the Lucca app on your phone makes the process ..read more

This “What to do this weekend in Berlin” guide starts with a sad note: in an effort to slow the spread of the corona virus, Berlin banned gatherings of 1,000 people or more and announced the closure of state-run theaters and concert halls until at least April 19th.
Smaller and private venues are not (and hopefully will not be!) forced yet to cancel their programe for the next weeks, but double check them out as the pandemic develops.

From the last weekend in November until right after Christmas, the Berlin is “inundated” with some of the most magical and enchanting Christmas markets. In fact, there are more than 60 of those throughout the city. Locals gather together to celebrate and get cozy while drinking mulled wine, beer and eating some of the most yummy German street food. Another favorite activity at Christmas Markets in Berlin is, of course, shopping for hand made Christmas decorations and trinkets. Several vocal and musical groups provide for a fun entertainment program.

Opened less than six months ago, Bonvivant is already a “junior institution” in the Akazienkiez, the coolest neighborhood in the Schöneberg district.
The first vegetarian cocktail bar in Germany blends exciting cuisine with indulgent cocktails. The kitchen is headed by Ottmar Pohl-Hoffbauer, a member of the Slow Food Germany’s Chef Alliance, bringing the essence of his philosophy to the table: sustainability with flavor, without compromising the quality of the food. In addition to using organic produce and most of the herbs grown in his own garden, the chef maintains a close rel ..read more

Located at Mommsenstrasse, just a few streets away from busy Kurfürstendamm, a well known institution for great wine starts a new chapter by changing its name to Christopher’s offering great international fine dining cuisine. Originally located in Mitte, the former winebar Schwein has recently moved to Charlottenburg. The new name didn’t come by accident: the chef Christopher Kümper, who was recently appointed the newcomer of the year by the board of Berlin master chefs and awarded with 15 points by the Gault Millau, runs the stoves of his new eponymous restaurant.

The beautiful Kastanienallee, just next to Zionskirchplatz, is home to Nauta Berlín, a pisco bar and restaurant where traditional Peruvian food gets a Japanese flair. The address is a very exciting place to experience thought provoking fusion cuisine.
The Peruvian-born chef and owner’s passion for their home country is ubiquitous. The Japanese influence is not only reflected in the food; it’s also omnipresent through the interior, combining the Japanese minimalism with the rich colors of Peru.
