Translated Charter of Aged Care Rights now available

Ahead of the 1 July 2019 introduction of the Charter of Aged Care Rights, the Department of Health has released 18 translated language versions of the Charter template for CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) care recipients. Aged care providers must give consumers a signed copy of the Charter, and ensure the consumer or their representative are given the opportunity to sign the document to acknowledge they understand their rights. Protecting against flu in aged care

All Australian Government-subsidised residential aged care providers are required to have a flu vaccination program in place for staff and volunteers. As part of the program, providers must offer on-site vaccinations or make arrangements for staff to access the vaccine offsite, must promote the benefits of flu vaccinations, and keep records of the number of staff that receive the vaccination.
