There’s a new online magazine that I wanted to tell you about. It’s called Seamless Design and is an online magazine filled with inspiration for living both stylishly and sustainably (basically what I’m all about right?). The magazine will be published biannually with the first edition launching yesterday. How exciting to have some new reading to help going into week 5 of lockdown here in the UK. Having worked with seamless design online’s blog in the past I was thrilled to be asked to contribute to the magazine as an interiors columnist (complete with mugshot on page one and all). I created a ..read more

I want to start by saying that I hope everyone reading is keeping safe, well & staying home as much as possible. I’ve only ventured to the village shop once all week & I think the fact that we’ve had such beautiful sunshine here in the UK for our daily walk has made me feel less claustrophobic than I assumed I would. If you’re finding yourself stuck at home with a home the needs some love then I’ve created a run down of some of my most popular upcycling projects below for you. Each project is budget friendly and can be completed quickly with tools/materials found in your loft/garage/ut ..read more

As anyone who has followed this blog or LMH across social media will know, I LOVE designing kids spaces. Bedroom’s, playrooms, boys, girls IDC I just love making a fun, multi functional space that I know kids are going to love. So, when we moved into our temporary rental hope I was a little disheartened that I couldn’t provide my own imaginative little boy with what other clients were getting from me.  The plan was to purchase a statement bed from Cuckooland that would make enough of an impact to distract from the lack of decor & colour on the walls BUT when it come down to it we just coul ..read more

A Natural Christmas Tablescape – AD

The Christmas table is probably my favourite element of decorating the house for Christmas, I love it (probably as I love eating & drinking so want somewhere well dressed to do so)! This year I’ve been very conscious of the throw away elements to a Christmas table, favours, napkins, crackers etc & have tried to cut back on as many of these things as possible. As of yet I’ve resisted adding any crackers to the table but I have to admit I’m struggling with the look without them & may have to make my own with personalised gifts as I have done in previous years. Our table this year is ..read more

This Christmas is going to be a little different to previous years and much more parred back due to us having recently downsized AND moved into rented (with all of the restrictions that go with that). This means that our Christmas decor, which is usually pretty OTT with the rustic vibe and fairy lights, twigs & wreaths hanging from every wall. Do you remember my fairy lit hallway from the last few years? I’m so going to miss that! Another element of this Christmas that is going to be parred back is the cooking. As we’ve a much smaller kitchen in our rental with a single oven I’m not going ..read more

A Natural Halloween

Don’t get me wrong, I love a themed few weeks in October where the majority of our activities are Halloween based & I love creating meals for our family with pumpkin & lots of sweet treats but what I don’t feel the need for is a mountain of cheap, throw away plastic decorations & costumes that every supermarket seems to put in our faces to tempt us at this time of year (ironically they don’t want us to put the cheap plastic decorations in a plastic bag to bring them home though!). It really does make me quite angry! I think the main issue I have is that a natural Halloween with inv ..read more

Upcycling with Gin (kind of) – AD

Anyone else need to keep every gin (or other spirit) bottle as they are just far too beautiful to throw away & they’re way too easy to upcycle? I keep them all & sometimes keep wine bottles too if they’re a good shape. Bottles are such a versatile item to upcycle, they can easily be made into lamps, vases or my personal favourite…candlesticks! You can imagine my excitement when I was gifted this beautiful ceramic bottle of gin from Norfolk Gin back in December. The bottle is handcrafted by the iconic pottery brand Wade and has a look & feel of a traditional ale bottle from the past ..read more
