January 2019. A new year, a new start right? I really have decided to do better in life. I thought I was doing just that, but ya know what, there’s always room for improvement and so as of the beginning of this new year I have begun moving in that direction. Like most of us, I’m not always feeling inspired nor am I always in the mood to even get out of bed in the morning-especially on these cold winter days. But that’s okay! Here are my personal goals:  -be more thankful and show it, -spend more time with family, -don’t waste time, -learn more, -improve skills. It’s not a long list, but i ..read more

June 2018 Well, it’s still spring, but it sure doesn’t feel like it. The heat is pretty immense lately if you haven’t noticed lol. But I can’t complain too much since it felt like winter wasn’t going to quit. Anyway, today’s blog is about going back to the basics. I write blogs when I feel compelled to and this is where I want to go with this today. By back to the basics, I simply mean I want to talk about why people come to work with me in my office. So if that isn’t too boring please read on! So what’s the deal, why do people go to hypnotists? Why do they choose to work with me? What’s the g ..read more

A Casual Chat

February 2018 It’s been far too long since I wrote a blog post. In fact it nearly feels unfamiliar to me lol. But regardless, I just wanted to have a casual chat for anyone who might read this particular entry. So consider it a random collection of thoughts and information I might have sitting with someone just chatting on any given day. For starters, let me speak about something that actually bugs me. And I try to live a life letting things go, and I do, but pride and honor for what I do as a profession keeps this one alive. Now, for the record, I don’t sit around and stew about this and I do ..read more

Effectiveness/Success Rate?
Repose Hypnosis Blog

April 2017 How effective is hypnosis? What is the success rate? These are very common questions I get asked so I figured why not do a quick blog about it. The reality though is the information is out there and fairly easy to find, but I wanted to see if I could make the info more readily attainable. To be honest, I’m not sure how many people even read through my blogs-I know a few do!-but it’s fun for me to write them anyway, so let’s get started! First off, let’s just generalize things. When people ask me, “What is your success rate?” I usually answer with an approximation. My answer is this ..read more

2017: Will it be a Happy New Year???

January, 2017 Another new year is upon us! Hard to believe how time has flown by. I remember when I was still a kid and hearing the older adults always talking about how fast time seemed to flow. I finally understand that all too well! It seems the older I get the more I understand that Time itself may just be the most valuable thing on Earth. The value in becoming a person who understands and feels in such a way is that we are coerced into hopefully trying to make every day count. To live every day to the fullest and create memories and positive experiences. So what about 2017? Did you make a ..read more

Discovery: How hypnosis actually works

July 2016 So I ran across this new article from CNBC. Now it’s not the first time I’ve seen imaging that shows at least some details as far as what happens when a person is hypnotized within the brain. However, this one is especially interesting and it’s very concise. It shows easily what happens in our brain that makes the process effective for us. I’m going to copy and paste the three main mechanisms that were noted: They saw decreased activity in a region known as the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex, a region known to be critical for evaluating contexts, which aids in deciding what to wor ..read more

Summer 2016 If you ever thought you were alone or in the minority when it comes to either trying or contemplating hypnosis, well, think again! This article is a short discussion about famous folks who decided to try hypnosis to alleviate an issue. We do this all the time in other categories, such as “Famous person X got their life on track doing A, B, and C!” They get pasted on the cover of magazines and websites all the time. But it’s fun, so here we go! Writer’s Block and Depression:  Sergei Rachmaninoff.  The highly famous composer and pianist actually used hypnosis to help ..read more

Number of Sessions for Success-A Brief Discussion on Styles and Numbers.

April 2016 So, a discussion about number of sessions a client might need to see success. I wanted to write a little something on this so we can clear the air. All too often we tend to look at things based on speed to completion, versus focusing on natural progression to completion. It’s almost splitting hairs really, but what I mean by that is the fact that people seeking help from hypnosis or any type of therapy really, often ask, “How long will this take?” or “How many sessions will I need?” Versus saying to themselves, “I will know when the time is right as to whether I’ve changed enough to ..read more

Hypnosis Vs. Meditation -Know the Differences

March 2016 I’ve been asked plenty of times over the years:  “What is the difference in regards to hypnosis versus meditation?” or:  “After watching meditation videos on Youtube to relax with, there isn’t much difference in comparison to hypnosis, right?”  So I answer the question, but sometimes I’m not so sure they really see the important differences, and thus it could become a self-fulfilling prophecy. In other words, a client may believe they are the same and thus feel that doing hypnosis sessions can be replaced. So let’s discuss how they are both similar and different. Let ..read more

Are YOU really ready to change? Hmmm…

February 2016   So are you? Are you really ready to change? Most people are quick to say “Yes!” This blog post is a conversation about making real changes and the examination thereof. It’s vitally important to know the answer to this question before jumping into hypnosis or any treatment style out there. When we’re talking about changing our internal programming, or changing from the inside out, you have to realize that not being fully ready will equate to a waste of your time and resources; aka money. As a professional hypnotist, I really try to make the case for a new client to have a s ..read more
