Everywhere At The End Of Time, and Hypnosis

Ok so. If you don’t know. “Everywhere At The End Of Time” is a group of six albums or “Stages” that presumably try and replicate the effects of dementia. The entire experience is 6 and a half hours long. I’ve listened to it all and man, is that album HORRIFYING. But also one of if not my favorite piece of art. Now, I know this is SUPER dangerous. But I have this one idea to hypnotize myself in order to experience EATEOT too its max, to actually affect my mind, and when its all over just switch my mind back on. Hopefully I don’t let the intrusive thoughts win. Should I, should I not? What do u ..read more

Hi, While this post will mention lewd topics , no actual explicit content is included . Posting here and not r/EroticHypnosis because the post is moreso about the mental health not the eroticm . Over the past , idk time is hard to quantify , I have been listening to erotic hypnosis soundtracks , however for some time now similarities between my coping mechanisms (primarily gender dysforia & depression) and some techniques used . While I at first was going to vent/ask about on the erotic sub , but when looking for other posts about this (still collecting the courage to write a post) , I've ..read more

Interesting etiquette question

I understand that some conversations are too difficult for some people. I get that. What I don’t get is making a snarky response and then blocking the person to whom you’re responding. So they see a highlight of your response in their mentions but the entire thread is now hidden from them so they can’t see or reply to that response. It’s like shouting horrible and unsubstantiated things at someone and then running away so they don’t get the right to reply. Seems pretty weird and cowardly. submitted by /u/hypnokev [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Share your experience with both. Do you start with direct first with clients? Do you do a test to determine suggestibility type? A hypnotherapist did this with me. submitted by /u/MajesticGrass999 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Am I falling asleep? And if I am, should I not be?

I have been doing guided hypnotherapy sessions through an app called Harmony. During every session I seem to enter this kind of in between state—where I am not totally awake nor am I fully asleep. At a certain point in the session I fade and I can’t actually consciously perceive the suggestions. Is this bad? Or is this what I’m trying to achieve? It is the same thing that seems to happen to me during yoga nidra or NSDR. Also I’m pretty new to self-hypnosis and still in a trial of Harmony. Open to hearing other/better options for beginners—working with a professional in person is likely out of ..read more

Please challenge my analogy for explaining the difference between meditation and hypnosis

Hi I'm trying to explain to some friends who do meditation the difference between the meditative experience and the hypnotic experience without getting too technical and academic about the conscious and unconscious minds yada yada. It's the first person experience not the science that I want to convey. I came up with the analogy of a river. Feel free to criticize or propose something better. Imagine that your thoughts are represented by a river. Every little current, wave, ripple and eddy represents a thought or qualia. The normal conscious state in which we're constantly analyzing, weighing ..read more

Remembering a specific memory

When I was a child I have a specific memory of being in a certain home. I do not recall why I was at the home with my mom. I just recall being in the home. For some reason it has always stuck with me for all of these years. I recently brought it up to my mom and she said we have never been to the home even though i specifically remember being at the home and going inside and being inside. Would hypnosis be able to help me remember more details if I don’t remember the specific date? Would my subconscious be able to recall or would hypnosis be impossible to recall the memory? submitted by /u/O ..read more
