Fall Color! While Traveling the State of Colorado… in pursuit of my magic career has many perks. Not the least of which I have become familiar with the many scenic treasures in Colorado. That said, it had been many years since I had traveled the Scenic Byway over Tennessee Pass between Leadville and Minturn. Rich in history and even wealthier in beauty this drive has long been a favorite of mine. Connie and I decided to make this one of this years Fall Color drives and I couldn’t have been more pleased. The color on Tennessee Pass was vibrant and spectacular. Fall Color Tennessee PassThe Drive ..read more

The sense of wonder magic creates! How Did They Do That? This is the question that has launched a lifelong passion and sometimes even a profession. These days depending on one’s age and how tech savvy they are, the place that most people start is the internet and videos. For magicians the internet has been a 2 edged sword. There are many videos that reveal how magic tricks are done. Certainly many people watch these videos just to solve curiosity. Some, however, have become captivated by what they see. This leads people to ask the question, “How do I Learn Magic?” This is the 1st of a series of ..read more

What a ride June Magic has been. Week 3 was busy but week 4 an Insane Asylum. How appropriate for a guy who performs a solo act called Instant insanity. Here s a wrap up of some of the last 2 weeks in June told mostly in photos. Golden Library Back to Magic Made in America as Connie and I visited the Golden Public Library. Ironically I cannot tell you much or post pictures from our 2nd stop. Suffice it to say Week 3 started with a bang as Woodland Park Connie and I visited a very special group of kids in a location we have been asked not to disclose. A memory we will both cherish. On the 21st ..read more

Sanity for Instant Insanity and Magic:Made in America. After a practically killer first 10 days of June Magic Ms. Connie and I began to settle into our summer run. There is nothing more exciting then seeing a miracle happen right under your nose. That’s Close Up Magic! My earliest love of magic was the big stuff, grand illusions. I still love seeing a floating person disappear in mid air. But as I grew as a magician I learned to appreciate close up magic. Magic Monday Madness 2015 Tomorrow June 5th, 2017 you will be able to see myself and 5 other Denver magicians at The Lumber Baron Inn (aka The Lumber Baron Mystery Mansion) perform their close up magic. More on that later. First how did I get to the point where I felt comfortable performing close up mag ..read more

I really personally liked the show as well and I know the other adults at the Birthday party enjoyed him as well. He spent extra time with the kids as they had plenty of questions for him. I would hire again! He’s very funny and super nice!” Thank you for the kind words Amy ..read more

Strait Jacket Escape! Birth of The Jacket of Doom.

The Incredible Lamont Lamont liked hanging upside down. He must of… he did a lot. He hung upside down on the Pearl Street Mall, multiple times he hung upside down for the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon and most important to me, he did it for the Mile High Magicians Society April 24th, 1976. For me it would be another magic moment as it would mark my entry into the world of escapes. Specifically the strait jacket escape. Harry Houdini takes an upside down bow Most performers and I think many in the non-performing world already know that there can be huge difference between seeing somet ..read more

The Foan Family Circus: A Magic Circus

I did not see The Foans, I experienced the Foans. I only saw one performance of the Foan Family Circus but wow what a show. You see most of this occurred during my college days and that kept me away from magic more then normal. To say The Foan Family Circus was a Magic Circus actually is a bit of  a disservice. A Magic Circus it was, but it was also a tongue in cheek, satirical, hilarious program filled with not only magic but juggling, music and a 1970’s sensibility that would be hard to recreate today. Who were the Foans? At the heart of the show were Sam Kent, Steve Aldrich, Eddie Gold ..read more

Sam Kent The Wizard The guy behind the counter was wearing a dress. Okay it wasn’t really a dress it was robe. The counter he was working behind was the first incarnation of The Wizard Magic Shop. Little did I realize that this would be one of the biggest moments in my life. What I like to call magic moments. I touched on this in my first post in this series about My Magic Journey. The Wizard Magic Shop however deserves more then a paragraph in this story so here it is, a personal memory of my version of Camelot. Sam Kent and his friend GORT The Wizard was Sam Kent. One of the most unique peop ..read more
