Is this safe?

I went to my OBs office the other day and when I was getting changed, I saw this. It's the speculum inside a trashcan with a mysterious liquid. As you can see, the whole device wasnt fully submerged either. This just doesn't sit right with me. This is the same speculum they ended up using on me later and they didn't rinse it or anything. Mystery vulva issue

In January, I had sex and 24 hrs later I started to itch. The sex was done on a couch and I have dogs so figured it was some bacteria infection. I went to an urgent care. They did not do an exam and gave me flagyl and fluconazole. It started to get better after a few days and then came back worse. I went to a gyno and they did swabs for STI’s bacteria and yeast everything was negative. I was told to put aquaphor on bc it looked like the skin is inflamed. I did that for two weeks. I also changed my underwear to 100 percent cotton. Then it was still itchy and then turned to a burning sensation ..read more

For the past year I have been experiencing a fishy odor every month, I am dry, have little to no libido, and more. I am single, have tested negative for BV, Yeast, all STIs, and STDs. However, my pap smears are abnormal. I have taken every antibiotic you can name, nothing works. I use Boric Acid to relieve the symptoms, I eat healthily, I workout, have great hygiene. I have tried it all. I was diagnosed with PCOS in November, have been experiencing weight gain while in a calorie deficit for 6-8 months now, intense cravings, fatigue, and more. Every doctor tells me I’m medically fine, all labs ..read more

Medical Justification for cervical biopsy & intravaginal US???

Recently had a family member undergone a cervical biopsy and intravaginal US and subsequently experienced some complications. There is a whole separate issue to be discussed but for that I would handle it myself, but main concern is how the above procedure was medically justified. The family member is a 52 year old female. Has not reached menopause and still having regular 24-28 day menstrual cycles. The OBGYN MD told her that her cycle is "irregular" since she is 52 yo and she "shouldn't have periods at this age". Her FSH was slightly elevated at 39 mIU/mL and DHEA-S at ~320 ug/dL. With this ..read more

I started my period yesterday, but have been having the worst itching under my boobs for 4 days now. It’s red, but no raised rash. Could this be hormone related from period? I’ve never had this happen before. submitted by /u/Active-Word-110 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I was diagnosed a year ago with adenomyosis from a pelvic ultrasound. Today I had another ultrasound done to see how things are. Can anyone tell me what this is? I took a picture from the screen. I understand I need to wait for my doctor but follow up isn’t for two weeks. Can anyone tell if this is normal? Sorry the picture is blurry. submitted by /u/QueasySalt9964 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
