May was a busy but exciting month for us! I'm going to lump all of our fun activities into one blog post while I'm trying to "catch up" from my blogging hiatus. This will mainly be a bunch of pictures capturing our activities, without a whole lot of writing. Planting the family garden! Thomas made the raised bed box and they planted okra, tomatoes and corn. Kentucky Derby party with friends! Twinning with my boys Cinco de Mayo! We had a few friends over to celebrate and eat tacos with us. Thomas and I celebrated our TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY this spring! This was a big one and we wanted to do something really special to celebrate. We were debating on a trip and where we would want to go. One of his friends had just gone to Belize and spoke very highly of it, and it sounded exotic and "off the beaten path" so we took the plunge and went. And it was just as incredible as we were expecting it to be. We absolutely, unequivocally, completely fell in love with Belize! I highly, highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun vacation spot! We had a small army of alternating helpers that ..read more

The boys played their last season of tee-ball over the spring season. They were the Arizona Diamondbacks and had a team full of their buddies from the daycare/school. The coaches were dads of the school friends too so we had a lot of fun! A few pictures from the season: Stokes on base William on base Ryland with Stokes Ethan and Stokes Ethan and Stokes Tucker and William Stokes in the dugout William in the dugout Ryan at a game What it looks like when you're already dressed and ready and the game gets calle ..read more

Y'all...you may have noticed. My last blog post was in April. It's October. YIKES! I've given a lot of thought to giving up the blog and just leaving it be. I don't have much time to dedicate to it and it feels like a burden at times, instead of a loving reminder of the life we're building. I'm not quite ready to give it up, but I will just post occasionally. I'm going to try to fit in about 6 months of super awesome (and busy) months into just a few blog posts to get caught up. Stay tuned ..read more

Clemson Spring Game

The annual Orange and White spring football game happened on the most gorgeous Saturday, April 6. This is a game where the team is split into 2 groups and they just scrimmage each other for fun. It's not too serious, but it's a way to gauge the talent of the younger guys and a way for them to "show out" for the coaches and fans after having gone through spring practice. They try to show off the skills they've developed during the off-season and a nice way for guys that don't always get to take many snaps in a real game to play and have some fun on the field. In recent years, especially since D ..read more

CFA Play date

The boys have several "best friends" in their class, but Solomon has been consistently in the upper echelon of friendships for William, in particular. William basically begged me to set up a play date but I didn't really know his mom and we aren't there at pick up and drop off at the same time. When I finally saw Solomon's mom at a pick up one day, I mentioned it to her and told her I'd connect on Facebook to set something up. Well, the problem then was that I couldn't find her on Facebook. She even mentioned that she wasn't on much...and my search was turning up nothing. Then I found a random ..read more

Aunt Wendy's 2019 Easter Egg Hunt

Aunt Wendy once again hosted her epic annual Easter Egg Hunt! This year she hosted it at her house so we had a new setting and some new babies this year to keep it super awesome. I absolutely love this event and look forward to it every year. Each year I offer to help - bring food, bring eggs, stuff eggs, do something...anything - and each year Wendy just tells me to show up! She goes all out and as always; she is the hostess with the mostest. Per my last post, I love matchy - matchy so I had the boys wear these cute combo of a pink Loggerhead shirt and yellow linen shorts. They looked adorab ..read more

I'm sure by now you all know that I'm a fan of dressing alike. My boys definitely do not dress alike every day, but if there's is a special occasion, holiday or a guaranteed photo opp, they're most likely wearing the same thing. I have to take advantage of it while I can because I do realize that they will be much more opinionated about what they'll wear at some point. Right now, we still have control...usually. I got ready one morning a few weeks ago and came downstairs and began doing my typical morning routine with Ryan. When I was getting him dressed I had a realization that he had the sa ..read more

Seizure activity

It had been almost a year and a half but Ryan had a few more seizures recently. He had one at home on Feb. 17 and then another one at school on March 26. After the February seizure, when I spoke to Ryan's neurologist, he didn't want to make any changes to meds but wanted me to reach back out if we noticed more seizures. Ryan was fine until late March when he had another seizure at school. At that point it was determined that we needed to up his dosage of one of his anti-seizure medicines. These seizures presented differently than his past seizures. With these seizures, he was clinching his ha ..read more
