Here my friends is a little tutorial for how I made this gorgeous granny stripe scarf. The tutorial uses UK crochet terms. I was inspired to make this  having watched a tutorial on You Tube by Fiber Spider. Searching hashtags on Instagram,  also lead me to the blog of   it.is.a.sarah  who has a tutorial for one in Dutch.  She has a chart and you can translate into English. But I wanted to do it my own way  and set about making triangles using my Granny Shawl Pattern. I have used 9 shades of Stylecraft Special DK and a 4mm hook. It would also be nice made ..read more

Due to popular demand, here is a tutorial  about how I make a granny stripe cowl. This tutorial uses  UK crochet terms A cowl is another name for a snood or neck warmer. It's basically a neater way of wearing a scarf! The cowl measures approximately 33cm/13 inches in depth  and 31cm/12 inches in width when measured flat. Basically you are going to make a tube of crochet,  which when worn wrinkles nicely around your neck,  filling out that awful gap in your coat where the wind gets in. There's no need to tie it, or fold it just simply stick it on! It can also be fo ..read more

This year I have discovered a new love! If you too like texture  and want to make the thickest, most squishy, dreamiest blanket ever,  then take a look at the waffle stitch blanket. For my first adventure in texture and colour,  I used the  red rainbow pack  in my favourite  Stylecraft Special DK  with a 3.5mm hook. The colour packs I have put together also have 2 balls of cream,  as they were originally set up for the rainbow granny blanket. I learnt how to do this stitch,  using an excellent video tutorial on You Tube  by Olivia aka Girly Bunches You can find t ..read more
