Welcome to our daily discussion thread! Tell stories, share thoughts, ask questions, swap advice, and be excellent to each other! Though we all share fitness as a common hobby or interest, the discussion here can be about any big or little thing you choose. The mods ask that you do mind the Cardinal Rules as they relate to respecting yourself and others, calling out any scantily clad photos as NSFW, and not asking for medical advice. submitted by /u/AutoModerator [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi, my right bicep is longer from like shoulder to elbow and my left bicep has more peak from my shoulder but is not as long. Any tips to correct and get them both the same or could it be down to genetics or my form. I am right handed if that helps and always start my workout on my weaker left side and always match the reps. Thanks. submitted by /u/sthommo55 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I keep seeing advertisements for this online fitness app. Has anyone tried this? I would love to find a Pilates, Barre, or ballet-like class app that is fun. I tend to get bored after a while. ? *edited due to autocorrect submitted by /u/mamasgottattoos [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi there! I’m 21F and I’m not really happy with my weight/proportion. I’m 5’6 or 5’7 and 126 pounds. I just feel a little unmotivated because I don’t see any changes, I’ve moved up in weight (lifting wise) but still no physical changes. Plus, I gained six pounds (BUT I did quit a job a few months back that required me to be on my feet all day). GOAL: I’m kinda skinny but I’m also kinda fat, any help would be appreciated. I want to lose the fat and become more toned. BACKGROUND: - When doing exercises I follow my partner around and do the work outs he’s doing. Overall, we work out for maybe ab ..read more

I do not have a machine at my condo gym so set up is so tedious, by the time I've warmed up and set up it's been like 12 mins. I started doing walking lunges, RDLs, Sumo squats and I have been feeling the glutes fired up ??? anyone else build their glutes without hip thrusts? submitted by /u/cyanass [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Running HR variations

Running HR Has anyone seen research on max HR for south Asian female runners who have a slim build? The 220-age formula appears to not be a great method. I run regularly and my HR while running sometimes goes above 190 (apple watch reported) though my average RHR is generally below 65. I’m 44YO and run about a 10min/mile. Curious if I am training too hard, though I seem to recover pretty well from my runs. #runners #training #runner #run #maxHR #workout submitted by /u/Fair_Willow_1763 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Going from tired/injured to fit & healthy

I'm hoping to hear any stories of women who've gone from exhausted/tired all the time or injured to fit and healthy and what you did to get there! I'm a fairly new mum - my baby is about 1 1/2 years old now - and I am so ready to feel like my usual energetic & healthy self again. I have a bad habit of over-exerting when I want to get fit, and then I burn out and end up sick and back at the 'starting line' again. I just went to the doctors for a check-up after a chest infection - all is well health-wise, but he said to treat myself like an athlete in recovery from an injury and focus on al ..read more
