This full Chicwish skirt is so elegant and versatile since you can pair it with a different top to totally change up the look. I was looking for formal options to wear to a black-tie wedding, and I got this skirt as one of my options. While I did not end up wearing it, I’m excited to have it in my closet to restyle for other events. I kept it classic with a simple boat neck top (last worn here) and classic clutch and block heels. When you are petite, it’s all about proportions – this high-waisted full skirt gave me the impression that I have long legs. Trust me – that is an allusion. I also p ..read more

I love rich tones in the fall like this eggplant sheath dress from Karen Kane. The fun bell sleeves add just enough detail. I paired it with my leather wrap belt, an old one from ASOS, and black heels. When it gets colder, I would pair the dress with tights and black boots. <div data-options="%7B%22widgetId%22%3A%225d93021a1b8cee6bbc7aea99%22%2C%22pid%22%3A%22uid1089-25271217-76%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fapi.shopstyle.com%2Fapi%2Fv2%22%7D"> <script id='shopsensewidget-script' src="//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js?cb=1569915269834"></script&g ..read more

Transition Tones

I tend to wear bright colors in the summer and then start transitioning to neutral tones for the fall and winter. This sheath dress is a classic example of one of my go-to dresses during this time of the season. I can layer with a blouse and a belt if it’s a colder day. It’s short enough that it can be worn with tall boots, as well. Today was warmer so I paired with my go-to cap to heels. I always get questions about these, and they are classic heels that every woman should own. They transition well throughout the year and go with almost everything. I’ve linked to great selections below at al ..read more

It’s officially the start of fall, which means it’s boots season! It’s still that time of the year when one day it’s hot and the next it’s cold. I always struggle during these times when sometimes I share summer looks and sometimes I share winter looks. I love styling mini skirts during the fall because it’s easy to wear it for warmer or chiller temperatures. The post Mini Skirt Fall Transition appeared first on Kate Style Petite ..read more

The fashion industry is one of the most environmentally destructive and unsustainable industries in the world. Fast fashion has led to brands designing and manufacturing clothes of low-quality, which often fall apart after a few washes. This means that although people are buying more clothes than ever, they are also disposing of more. According to the Council for Textile Recycling, in the U.S., more than 25 billion pounds of clothing are thrown away every year, and only 18% of wasted clothing is recycled. However, some brands are leading the way in trying to reduce the environmental and social ..read more

Fun facts about Detroit: It’s the only city in the U.S. that looks south to Canada, and it is the birthplace of Motown music! We spent a lovely weekend in Detroit for a friend’s wedding. While we didn’t get to see and do everything, here are a few of the highlights that we did and some places my friend recommended. Studio A in Motown Museum What to Do: Belle Isle Park – It’s an island that separates Detroit from Canada. The island was built out with debris from Detroit and now is almost 100 acres. On the island includes the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the Belle Isle Aquarium, Dossin G ..read more

If you are looking for the best Peruvian restaurant in Washington, D.C., then check out Pisco y Nazca. They have the best ceviche I’ve had in the city! They also serve large portions good for sharing, and they also offer bottomless brunch. It’s a great spot to bring family and friends with a good ambiance. Eggs BenedictPeruvian-French Toast I’ve been for both dinner and brunch and would recommend both! The restaurant is fairly large for D.C. and can accommodate large groups, and they take reservations. I’m wearing my favorite linen dress from ASOS, last worn here. I’ve paired it with Amerri b ..read more
