An artist with quite the following as Rain Szeto needs no introduction here on A Portfolio, but we love her illustrations and prints so much. She was just included in the Traditions show curated by Thinkspace and Tlaloc at the Muzeo in Anaheim, and we wanted to feature some of the works here today.  ..read more

On today's A Portfolio, we take a look at the career-spanning output of Spanish street artist, Sam3. We recently posted a video edit that Sam3 made, and it got us thinking about his great murals, street pieces, illustrations and installations. He has always kept it simple in terms of colors choices, but there is a huge and dramatic concept behind the simplicity.  ..read more

We have become a bit closer to the mind of David Shrigley over the last year, from him being the Summer 2023 cover story and Radio Juxtapoz podcast guest for his Pulped Fiction project. Part of looking into his practice is this idea that, as a conceptual artist, collaborations may seem like a tricky endeavor. When he told us, "So I've got a lot done and now I'm in this situation where I don't have to make the work. I could just roll a joint and get stoned and go up the hill and hang out with my dog, albeit, it is really cold. I wouldn't do that," I tend to think I wonder how he would work wel ..read more

I’m a huge fan of Lori Damiano’s paintings and animations; I also really love Will Oldham’s music, so when I saw that Lori and Will had teamed up on a children’s book, I was ecstatic. Shorty’s Ark is a 22-page hardcover publication celebrating the diversity and fragility of planet Earth. Curious as to how this whole thing materialized, I reached out to Lori to get the skinny ..read more

I haven't been back to Italy since before the pandemic and have really missed my regular trips to Milan to show with Antonio, Alessandra, Aloisia, and the crew at Antonio Colombo Gallery. It took almost two years of conversation and planning to get the trip and show organized. The gallery let me curate this exhibit. I had asked Kimou Meyer and Nathaniel Russell if they'd please show with me in Milan, and thankfully they agreed. All of the art got packed, shipped, received, cataloged, priced, and photographed by the team at the gallery, so it was time for my wife Jennifer and I to pack and fly ..read more

Steve Turner is pleased to present No Running By The Pool, a solo exhibition featuring drawings from the last seven years by Los Angeles-based and Juxtapoz favorite, Robert Pokorny. According to the artist, “drawing is at the root of my practice, where ideas are born, tested and refined. When drawing, I work freely, without inhibition, allowing the mark making to dictate where the drawing wants to go. The outcome is determined by the process and I know that I am on the right path when all my thoughts fade away.”  ..read more
