I missed last year’s NCAA playoffs so much that I channeled my energies into writing SOOLEY, my first shot at basketball fiction, which is now on sale.
I hope you enjoy it.

Dear Reader,
I love sports, especially the college games I dreamed of playing in high school. But like those of the other kids in the neighborhood, my dreams were far greater than any discernable talent, and the college recruiters looked elsewhere.
Later in life, I discovered a different talent, one that is more satisfying and has given me a career that’s lasted much longer than any I could have pursued on the field or the court. Writers can go on for as long as their readers remain loyal, and so far, you have enjoyed my sports novels.

Dear Reader,
Happy holidays.
To be offering such a greeting at the end of such a lousy year feels somewhat strange. But, we’ve made it. We’re closing out a period of time that will be considered nothing short of historic, and perhaps we will soon be able to look back with some measure of pride for surviving, those of us who are lucky. Hello Book Lovers:
John Grisham here, hiding on the farm in central Virginia, safe and secure. I trust you are too. Be careful out there.
Camino Winds was published recently, and normally I would be making the rounds, visiting stores to promote my new novel. But as you know, the world has changed dramatically in the past few months and almost nothing seems the same.
I had planned to tour with Camino Winds but that’s not possible now. With its prequel, Camino Island, I toured for the first time in twenty years and had a delightful time. I went to 25 bookstores and did all sorts of events with l ..read more

Dear Reader,
Hope this finds you and yours sheltered and well.
Three years ago I published Camino Island. Starring no lawyers, the novel is about priceless manuscripts that are stolen from a prestigious library and make their way through the black market to Bruce Cable, a bookstore owner and rare-book dealer on Camino Island, a small fictional place in Florida.
By the time I finished writing it, I knew I would go back there for another story. Featuring many of the same characters but none of the original plot, Camino Winds is a sequel of sorts—even though it in no way requires you to have read ..read more
