Menopause + HRT not working. What’s next?

Have been on a chemically induced menopause for 2 years now. Dealing with the usually symptoms (hot flashes, insomnia, weight gain, vaginal/urogenital atrophy, etc.) The menopause drug (Orilissa) works well to stop periods, but delivers these menopausal “side effects” and occasional spotting and pain. I (45F) have been on HRT (oral progesterone 100mg daily, oral estradiol 1mg daily, Vagifem suppositories every other day). This combo helps eliminate most hot flashes and insomnia. Has no effect on weight, and very little improvement on VA/UA (I suspect it just prevents it from getting worse as ..read more

Hot flashes for 7-11 YEARS??!!

I'm in bed and experiencing yet another hot flash. I'm two years in and was wondering how much longer I'm going to be dealing with this. After asking my phone I learn the terrible truth. My hot flashes are mild compared to most, about 7-12 times a day where I get between 20 seconds to a minute and a half of "Fuck...". No sweating. If I take HRT or Estoven or SOMETHING that makes the symptoms go away, will they come back and I'll have to start over when I stop? Or will the pills carry me past it? submitted by /u/l00ky_here [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Concerned with irregular bleeding

I’m 49 and have had basically zero peri symptoms except very occasional night sweats. My periods are every 28 days, still fairly heavy. I finished my last period on Saturday. Today is Thursday and all of a sudden I’m bleeding red blood, pretty decent flow. Could this be the start of menopause or am I dying? My last Pap smear had “insufficient sample” so I need to redo it. I’m low key worried. I did have a fibroid many years ago but I was super bloated with that and I’m not bloated at all. Thank you in advance for any insights and personal experience! submitted by /u/pennywinsthewest [visit r ..read more

Has anyone tried period panties?

I have been perimenopausal for the last year or so (maybe longer, but denial is real), and the day to day changes have been absolutely wild! The random excuse of a pseudo-period, the change in body odour, a new onset of yeast infections, the surprise “drip” after using the restroom. Everyday seems like a new disgusting bodily function adventure. Has anyone used “period panties” to help mask/control this tragic fallout? Please help! I’ve changed my chonie regiment at least three times over and can’t seem to find a happy medium. Should I make the investment? submitted by /u/rescueninjaRN [visi ..read more

Testosterone Cream down there?

Late forties, still very interested in sex, but definitely noticing a loss of sensation and it’s harder to orgasm with my partner here lately. My OBGYN prescribed testosterone cream to be used down there once a day. Haven’t tried it yet. I would love some feedback or advice from anyone with first hand experience, good or bad. I’ve tried to do some research but it’s very hit or miss. submitted by /u/Accidental-Chaos [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does anyone else experience an internal tremor sensation upon waking up? Several times I night I wake up and feel like I’m vibrating inside my body. It’s not obvious on the outside of my body but I can feel it inside. I’m almost two years into menopause and this has been happening for the past year. submitted by /u/Positive_Ad3965 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I've been trying to enjoy the gym. I've been trying to get into my physical health. I've always hated the fking gym. I hated it in school, and I hate it now. It's been 3 weeks and this week I've worked with a trainer who I can tell thinks I'm a whiny bitch. I have a shoulder injury so no, I'm not going to fucking push too hard. I don't know how the equipment works, sorry I'm stupid. Im exhausted and its taken every ounce ofanythingg to even ealk in the door. I explained I'm in peri and I don't expect him to get it. But his whole attitude towards me blows. He's leaving on vacation Friday and w ..read more

I’ve didn’t realise how bad my isolating has got this last year. I have no energy left.

I’ve spent so much energy pushing myself for years to be a good daughter and visit my parents and be a good friend and go out and be a good person and work a job. But the past year without even realising it my body just gave up. I used to fear disappointing people and my parents can be tough people to be with. But I persisted because that’s what I did. If I had even a little energy I would push myself beyond. Otherwise I felt guilt. This past hear my body has just said no. No we’re not pushing ourselves, no we’re not going to please people to keep them in our life. We just stopped going out e ..read more
