Why don’t we rest more?
Tanith Lee – Mrs Menopause

September can feel a bit like January but sunnier and warmer. The kids are back after the summer holidays. Maybe you’ve been away and are back ready to move towards Autumn. The temptation is to go, go, go. But I’m going to suggest doing the opposite, how about making sure you get enough rest? Having the kids at home for 6 weeks is exhausting! I’m past that now but I remember it well. No time for yourself, juggling childcare, entertaining, feeding, arguing and not to mention the mess! It’s exhausting, especially if you are in the hormonal throws of peri-menopause. Preserving precious energy le ..read more

Loneliness in menopause
Tanith Lee – Mrs Menopause

I’m going to share a little bit of my personal story. I was told thirteen years ago, age 37 that I had gone through the menopause. It was a HUGE shock because even though I knew something was very wrong with me I hadn’t even said the word menopause let alone considered it to be a cause of my mental, emotional and physical break down. Thirteen years ago the ‘menopause world’ was a very different place. If you think menopausal woman are underserved now you should’ve seen how it was back then. Practically no was was talking about it. It was very taboo. It was a lonely place to be. I’m grateful fo ..read more

Can CBD help menopause symptoms?

To be honest I don’t know a huge amount about CBD oil (i’m learning though) but I have tried two brands. The CBD market has skyrocketed in recent years. When i first looked into using CBD year ago I found the information online quite confusing. Dosage, quantity, contractions etc. The first is a brand I tried was fourfive, which I used for a few weeks before switching to Dragonfly. I swapped because I was approached by Dragonfly CBD to see if i would like to try their product and write about it. I don’t say yes to everyone (I’m not that kinda gal these days!) I’m picky with the brands I review ..read more

How to fix all your menopause symptoms all at once
Tanith Lee – Mrs Menopause

Is it possible to fix your symptoms all in one go? That depends on you, your lifestyle and which symptoms you are experiencing. In this video I talk about: By viewing menopause symptoms as menopause messages from the body we are more likely to want to listen. How the body is always sending us messages and where those messages come from. How to understand those messages and they aren’t always what they seem. Are sugar craving really sugar cravings? How to stop treating your body like the enemy. Avoid focusing on individual symptoms and step back and look at supporting the body as a whole. 4 ar ..read more

Menopause Messages
Tanith Lee – Mrs Menopause

Menopause isn’t a long list of symptoms. It’s a powerful and wise transformation from one part of our life to another. We don’t tend to hear that message do we? We’ve been told it’s a stage to be ignored and avoided, much like ageing. The invisible, older woman is normalised in our western culture. We are told that when we show signs of ageing like wrinkles, body shape changes and are no longer bearing children we are worthless to society – F that! We have a choice. Resist it or embrace it. Women going through the menopause are treated like a big bag of symptoms. It feels like it is being medi ..read more

Seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), is a small shrub that grows at high altitudes in the northwest Himalayan region. It’s a very hardy plant and able to withstand harsh winter conditions, it’s a pretty tough plant! It produces orange/yellow berries and has been used as a traditional remedy for skin and health conditions for many generations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippophae https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_buckthorn_oil   also know as Omega 7,   Vaginal Atrophy     https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25104582/ But it’s not just the vagina SB helps. Soothing Drinks For Stressful Times

I love tea. I enjoy a regular ‘cup of tea’ but I adore herbal teas. This year I grew some herbs and flowers, dried them and made healing teas with them. I love spending time in the garden and getting my hands in the soil. There is something hugely satisfying about growing plants for teas. I’m still learning and experimenting. It really is my happy place and I find flow and relaxation in the whole process. I’ll share more about the teas I made in another post because I want to share three drinks that I find very soothing for the mind, body and soul.   Healthy hot choco ..read more

Thought provoking and funny books I’ve loved this year
Tanith Lee – Mrs Menopause

I’m an avid reader and could happily spend hours curled up with a good book. I was raised in a family where everyone read. My Mum and Grandmother always read before bed/sleep. My name, Tanith, was taken from a book my Mum was reading while pregnant. The Devil Rides Out by Dennis Wheatley ‘telling a disturbing story of black magic and the occult’ (Wiki) I’ve just realised that I’ve never read it and I’ve found my Mum’s original on my bookshelf so I’ll add that to the stack. My name comes from Tanit,  Phoenician Goddess representing a Mother Goddess. Queen of Heaven and mother to us al ..read more
