This warm orange couscous salad is a unique and satisfying way to eat your veggies!
I love this meal. It’s simple, really tasty, and it’s how I like my salads… with carbs thrown in. This warm orange couscous salad has got warming spices like cinnamon and turmeric to give the couscous lots of flavor. And of course, the orange juice that you cook it in really brightens things up!
You might have seen this post on my Instagram account. I created this recipe for a sponsored post with Florida Orange Juice. Of course, you can use any kind of orange juice for this recipe, including freshly squeezed ..read more

I’ve excerpted this recipe straight from my best-selling cookbook, Vegan Comfort Classics, just for you! It truly is the BEST vegan ramen recipe around.
I’m half-Japanese, but I’m not going to front like I’m some kind of ramen expert. I even read we stole it from China?! Anyway this isn’t a history lesson, you just want noodles drowning in a well-rounded, rich, layered umami broth. So I’ve created a homemade ramen that’s less intimidating to make but just as decadent and flavourful as anything you’d order in a restaurant. And the best part, of course, is it’s all veggie based! Some things to ..read more

Guess what I did?! I had AI write me RECIPE?! and it actually turned out pretty good.
It was Chat GPT who created this creamy cucumber noodle bowl! That’s right. I plugged in the few ingredients I had on hand and in a matter of seconds it delivered this. We’re all aware that most of our jobs will be performed at some level by AI in the near future correct? Sheesh!
Watch the video to see how this all came together and to get my tasting face results!
This might be the easiest blog post I’ve ever had to write. Because I’m not even going to write much more myself. Here’s what Chat GPT has to say ..read more

I’m doing what I do best in this one folks! That’s right, improving overrated recipes from the internet.
I’ll be improving the creamy meyer lemon pasta from NYT Cooking. When I saw this post on their Instagram, I was intrigued. They use whole meyer lemons in the recipe. I love me a meyer lemon. Think of it as a slightly orangier lemon. This recipe uses the whole dang thing and 3 of them at that!
A quick side-by-side comparison proves how I improved the recipe. Not only did I add a crispy panko breadcrumb topping infused with more meyer lemon zest, but the NYT version looks like it has raw lem ..read more

I’ve got the coziest soup for those grey days! This is a creamy vegan white lasagna soup that takes about 30 minutes to make.
I recently made my official comeback to the hot for food YouTube channel with a RECIPE?! I was craving soup and really wanted to make a white lasagna soup. I have a traditional lasagna soup recipe with tomato sauce in my debut cookbook Vegan Comfort Classics. So it’s about time I gave birth to its sibling. Check out the chaos that is this RECIPE?! video below!
The broth uses my fave—chicken-flavored bouillon—and has lots of garlic and tasty shitakes to pack it with fl ..read more

I saw Half Baked Harvest post this recipe for baked cinnamon crunch french toast to her IG and it had to be done! I was shopping at Trader Joe’s that day and saw they sell a vegan brioche loaf. Seems the stars were aligned for this to happen, no?
This vegan baked cinnamon crunch french toast is nearly like the original recipe, but obviously doesn’t include eggs or dairy! The end result is a bread pudding-type baked french toast with a crunchy cinnamon toast layer on top. I used Just Egg and oatmilk to make the dredge for the french toast, and just like Tieghan I stuffed that brioche with a wh ..read more

I’m posting this delicious date shake recipe ahead of Valentine’s day because it’s the only date I’ll be on this holiday!
I hope you’ll join me on this date shake journey. Those that have been here a while know that dates aren’t REALLY my favorite. However, I do like them in smoothies and I really do like a sweet cinnamony date shake! It’s also very Californian of me. The drink originated in and is particularly associated with the Coachella Valley in California. Head out to the desert from LA and you’ll find a plethora of date shake options in restaurants and road side stops. I’ve had two veg ..read more

K don’t click away just yet! I promise you this fancy buttered toast is somewhat life-changing. Not life-changing in a ridiculous, unnecessary way like the butter board trend is— look, it’s even dangerous LOL—but in a way that makes your mornings, afternoons, or late-night snack sesh feel elevated.

This idea came to me as a result of the butter board trend. See rant below.
Do you any idea what I’m talking about? If you don’t it all started on Tik Tok from this video. Nothing against this creator. She didn’t even invent this idea, but it did get popular from her post. I guess I have ..read more
