Memorial Day is the day we honor and remember those who lost their lives in battle, fighting for our freedoms.
It takes a special kind of person to join the military knowing you could be deployed into the middle of a war or peace keeping mission that has lost its peace. Knowing you could be killed or have to kill. Also knowing you are protecting a very diversified country filled with different cultures, races, religions, politics etc. Some aren’t even here legally. But these soldiers don’t care. They are fighting for ALL.
But there’s another group of soldiers we need to remember. They didn’t d ..read more

That’s ok because afterwards, Susan and I headed out to an Applebee’s. Munching our own lunch. lol How was your week?
Here’s the Vlog for you to watch. What are your thoughts? Should we stop? Are we annoying? Got ideas for us? Leave it all in the comments!

So, I did a thing. For Christmas this year, Chris and I gave each other early gifts. He loves to cook and bake so I got him the Mack Daddy of kitchen mixers (KitchenAid) and he got me Alexa. Why are we so late to get an AI voice in the house? Because we never really needed it. But lately, since I work from home, I wanted an assistant to turn on my lights, take notes and order crap on Amazon for me. I’ve become THAT person. Lol
But I never thought Alexa would cause so much trouble. She started out arguing over recipes with my husband. I couldn’t believe my ears. It was about using self-rising f ..read more

The hubby and I had dinner out at one of our favorite little dive restaurants. The place where the wings are saucy, the floor is greasy, and beer flows all night. It’s also a place to watch almost any sports game on one of their gazillion tv’s. But on this night, there was a new item on the menu, and it was calling my name! It was similar to a low country boil. It had crab legs, potatoes, corn on the cob, fried jumbo shrimp, and a little steak. A little cup of butter for dunking the crab and what could go wrong? Everything.
The steak was just tossed on top. That was the first red flag. A bit c ..read more

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for my spouse. His snores like a foghorn, a symphony loud, While I tossed and I turned in a hot-flashy cloud.
The stockings were hung on the chimney with care, (Though I suspect he’d forgotten, the lazy old bear). The lights were not strung, not a single strand, He’d promised to do it, margarita in hand.
The children, grown up, had flown from the nest, Leaving just the two of us, and a bit of a test. To keep up the traditions, the magic of yore, Though my energy wanes, and I creak a bit more.

Fear Itself: The Curious Allure of the Spooky and the Scary
In a world filled with varying degrees of fear, one might wonder why some of us, even in midlife, are drawn to the macabre while others run away from it like a cat from a cucumber. Yes, I’m talking about those enigmatic creatures who get giddy at the thought of haunted houses, thrilling scary stories, and bone-chilling spooky movies. You know, the type of people who will gladly watch a horror film while clutching a bowl of popcorn in one hand and a margarita in the other, all while scoffing at the very notion of fear. But wait, isn’t ..read more
