The Times has released its annual ranking of university courses by subject – find out which universities ranked highest for dentistry in 2024. Every year The Times creates a Good University Guide, ranking UK universities as a whole and by individual subject courses. MPs vote in favour of UK smoking ban

The House of Commons has voted in favour of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s smoking ban by 383 votes to 67. The vote took place yesterday (16 April) following the second reading of the tobacco and vapes bill, where MPs debated the potential efficacy of the smoking ban. Those that voted against the bill include 57 of Sunak’s Conservative MPs. The government is looking into ‘non-van solutions’ to the dental access crisis despite pledging a fleet of mobile clinics in the NHS dental recovery plan. In a document on the government website, it reports ‘limited availability’ of both dental vans and the required workforce to run them.
