Do i Absolutely Need to renew CCNA cert?

Hi, I just wanted to test the waters and see how necessary it is for me to renew my CCNA certification. I think it expired last summary and I'm planning to transition to Cyber security after working in networking the last 3 years. Is it in my best interest to renew or is not really necessary? I'd rather put more time in cyber certs and hope my experience can supplement retaking it. submitted by /u/NationOfIllian [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Fight End Users

Have any of you guys ever been challenged to a fight by an end user? This particular user is upset because the troubleshooting steps we give them require a reboot and this user would rather cut off their limbs than reboot their laptop. We told them that this is the best recommendation we have and it resulted in them wanting to fight...literally...they said "we can go talk about this outside since you want to sound so tough." I am honestly very tempted to go through with it. This person is a POS and nothing would gratify me more than to knock some sense into him. I am leaving the company next ..read more

Windows server event viewer analyzer suggestions

So I am acting IT director for my company. 7 years ago there was 4 IT guys in this department including myself. As with every other industry folks were trimmed and I am now the lone wolf. I am looking for a solution to help analyze my windows server event viewer, and maybe rank them as far as criticality goes. I want to address the ones that truly need addressing but i dont want to waste time researching the ones that end up being "while this is an error it can be disregarded" A free trial would be nice, but I plan to ask for money to purchase once I find one worth the money submitted by /u ..read more

Cyber Security vs Data Science

I am planning to take on a a new path. I was on the BPO industry for quite sometime now as a tech support. I am a 3rd year IT undergraduate and I have little background in networking, and basic programming. I am torn on which path should I choose between cybersec and data science. What would be the best or would be/always in demand and that wouldn't be obsolete? Also considering Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, GCP). submitted by /u/br3ezyy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
