I have been wanting to take part in Tome Topple for a very long time so now that I have a TON of huge books to read it’s finally time. You can find more info on Sam’s channel Thoughts on Tomes. Basically the main goal is to read books 500 pages or longer, there are some optional prompts. Needless to say this TBR will be large in scale both in pages and how many books I’ll have listed. I will not get to all of them obviously, that would be…impressive, I’m merely listing most of the huge books that I own because I’ll most likely be picking based on my moods at the time. In Review: April 2020 Recap

2020 has been…intense, exhausting, scary, and weird. I took a sabtatical from the blog last year, and reading as well…and it lasted a bit longer than I thought because the world decided to set itself. It’s been kind of rough. At the very end of March I started feeling the itch to pick up a book again, and now at the end of April I am feeling more like myself. I read a lot and enjoyed it, but I think I’m still on a bit of a hiatus from reviewing. I’ve mentioned it before but basically reviewing adds a level of stress to my hobby that I can’t deal with right now. I can talk about my books all d ..read more

Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon & OWLS Readathon Wrap Up

I didn’t do well with this one. It wasn’t the lack of desire, but more of anxiety rearing it’s ugly head and making it impossible to do anything but focus on grounding. Of my choices I only managed to get to two. Come Tumbling Down by Seanan Mcguire Artificial Condition by Martha Wells I started this before my desire to being blogging came back and so it’s been a casual attempt at best. I may want to do the NEWTs later this year so I figured I’d give it a try with the books I already own or can borrow. Another week gone, more books knocked off my TBR. So let’s get into it! I used these mostly as guidelines to give me some structure, which I desperately need in these vastly unstructured times. I’m Blue TBR – Wrap Up These are all books with blue covers, or mostly blue covers…and for so reason they were all massive. Physics of the Impossible by Michio Kaku Dragon Age Tevinter Nights Hard in High Town Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff Howling Dark by Christopher Rucchio Morning Star by Pierce Brown Finished 2 of 6 Books Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff – This turned out to ..read more

It’s been a really long time since I’ve fully participated in the 24 Hour Readathon, and I thought it would be fun to dive in full force now that I’m enjoying my books again. So let’s get into to it! I don’t have any sort of actual plan, but I do have a lot of library holds coming in and a dangerous desire to dig into my kindle backlog. I wish I had some fancy photos of my books for this, but all of them are digital except like two. Possible TBR for the Day So I thought it would be fun to pick out some books from my kindle, which has almost 2000 books on it that I haven’t read, via a ..read more

TBR Projects – Unfinished Books & I’m Blue Blah Blah Blah

Hey everyone! Long time no see! I’ve had some issues in the past year when it comes to motivation and reading, and for the first time in my life I went months without reading. It was honestly the break I needed. I’m not saying I’m back to the way I was, but I’m definitely feeling a little better AND it helps that w’re all stuck in our in houses so boredom has kind of allowed me to pick up a book without wanting to shove in the trash can. So as a way to ease myself in and read some of the books I’ve had lying around I have started making TBRs (purposely too large) to focus on for a week a so ..read more

Tell Me Tuesday #103

Hosted by La La in the Library Last Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – Xbox One – This is a Metroidvania in the same style as games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. In fact the man behind Symphony of the Night is the one who created Bloodstained. This has been one of my favorite games to play since it came out and I finally decided it was time to defeat the final boss after months and months of putting it off. I’m still playing the game in New Game + mode, but it feels nice to have finally tackled this one fully. The Forever War by Joe Haldeman – Goodreads – I bought a few ..read more

Hosted by La La in the Library Last Borderlands 2 – Xbox One – I finally got around to playing and finishing this one. It’s such a good series, and I’m looking forward to playing the third one when it drops in a week or so. Glass Masquerade – Xbox One – This is a very low key stain glass puzzle game, it’s quite pretty and I used it for daily achievements as well as to unwind a bit. It’s an easy 100% too, which is always nice. Now Omensight – Xbox One– This is pretty interesting, it’s a bit of a hack and slash game but it has a story that requires you to travel back in time and lea ..read more
