Hey everyone, it's my first time posting, so let me know if this is not the right place or if i don't provide enough information :) I am renting an apartment, and aside from the main lighting, there's a secondary lamp in the corner. I'd like to add a sconce or something to make it look better, but i'm not sure how to do it, since it's in a corner. (Are there any corner sconces ?) The cables are also quite thick and horrible to manage since they're coming right out of the corner (why would anyone do that ???) Do you have any ideas on how i could make it look better ? Also not sure if I sh ..read more

Hello lighting community! Can someone help me identify what I need to buy to replace this driver? I’m a lighting neophyte and I don’t know where to begin. A google search yields drivers with some of the same numbers, but not all. I don’t want to buy something that’s the right watts but wrong voltage and I catch myself on fire. Please help me not do that. Thank you! submitted by /u/Non_Saepe [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Loose socket in new pendant light

We purchased two pendants to place over our island. We finally got an electrician to come over to hang them. He got them hung and I had bulbs for them and they look good. We also had him install a dimmer to control them. After a couple of days we realized the 60 watt bulbs were not bright enough. I purchased a couple of 100 watt bulbs. When I removed the existing bulbs I noticed that one of the sockets was loose and spun around. I actually had to hold the socket to get the bulb seated all the way. The other pendant’s socket is solid. So I turned the lights off and checked the screws in the so ..read more

Help identifying track lighting. I'd like to replace these track light heads. What do I look for whan I shop for new ones? There are many sizes/types of tracks. Juno, H track, L track. I believethis is a low-voltage 12v track, correct? And if so there's a transformer in the wall? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, I'm brand new here and this is my first post. A bit long post due to lack of language skills, please forgive me.. I ask you for help regarding which path to take to try to solve what I think is a DMX problem. Scenario: I find myself in China touring an Australian show. We are inthe last stretch of a 9 week tour and this last one is a big theatre, a very simple show from a lighting point of view: a total of 32 fixtures, a mix of profiles, par cans and fresnels, all incandescent, no moving heads. I have been touring with this show/setup for more than 10 for years and sending ..read more

I'm helping a friend with a few museum exhibit designs, and need to come up with a solution to have a set of 22 discrete physical buttons (in different locations) trigger combinations of 17 lightboxes. Theres a second similar setup using 12 buttons to trigger 15 combinations of light boxes. So - 34 ins, 32 combinable outs. Previously, he did this with a bunch of voltage control and an excessive amount of wiring. I'm a show tech, so my mind instantly goes to a standalone DMX controller with bump cue ability (e.g. button 1 triggers channels 1,4,8; button 2 triggers ch 2,4,10 - and so on). I'm t ..read more
