Hey guys the help would be great here, I have a John Deere 7230 not 7230r and it is about 130hp, I can chip tune it and add duals or stick with singles, I am debating on what to get because I use a old IH chisel plow I believe 15 shanks and a field cultivator which is 16 feet. Would you sell both and buy one tillage tool as I do mostly hay and one row crop field so don’t use either much or stick with what I have and get duals and chiptune or remove shanks on chisel plow and or buy a new one and if so what size would you buy, I’m pretty sure mine is a 4300 or 4500 if that’s sounds right thanks ..read more

From what I’ve read in the operator’s manual/head from previous owner, it looks like there is a place to download premade implement settings files which you can then transfer via usb and import to the system/monitor setup, however I can’t seem to find anymore information on where exactly this supposed online database is. I’m looking for the files for a JD 7300 ME2 planter, among more than just a few other various implements. submitted by /u/ThePlottHasThickened [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello all. The more I learn the more interested on starting what I see as life changing project, not only for me, but for further generations after I’m gone. I live in Edmonton and have been looking for land for a farm, but I’m trying to figure out how can I start with my own farm (20-30 acres), with my own house in it without leaving my main job until I’m way too deep into my farm and make some money out of it at least to allow me to cover my basic expenses. Any tips on where should I begin? Any learning resources? submitted by /u/3D31M [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello all, I’m reaching out to any of you corn farmers who have some knowledge on soil amendments and improving crop production and quality. I lease property from a farmer in western WA for waterfowl hunting. Every year the farmer plants corn for us around our duck ponds so that we have good habitat to hunt. Over the past couple of years the corn has not grown well and is short, small ears etc. He always tills/discs the fields in the spring and applies fertilizer. Even so, it’s just not growing the way we need it and becoming an issue for our waterfowl habitat. We requested a soil sample ..read more
