So for years now I've been obsessed with hillstream species, mainly loaches sbd gobies. And the more riverine species of corydora /other S.American catfish.
Question for those with niche set ups for true high flow species. Do you keep dither fish in these shapes? Ie, danios, tetras? How do they cope? Do the need a low flow rest area?

Just finished planting it and the water looks hazy but seems to be clearing up bottom first.
Is an aquarium that's been planted 30 mins ago supposed to look like this? This is my first time doing it, any suggestion would be appreciated.

Hey all, wondering where you guys get buce from that doesn’t cost you a kidney to buy a good amount of. I’m building out a 29 gal with lava rock and am wanting to get maybe 3-5 strains of buce to fill it with. Thanks in advance!

I’m getting some hairy algae :( but my betta ate all my shrimp (expected) and two of my three ramshorns have died ??? (I think he ate them, too). My levels are fine, and I do a 20% water change once a week. So, I think I need a pal. The only thing I can think of is a pleco, but idk if that’s a good match. I just need something that’s gonna eat all the rubbish that creates these algae blooms (I think, open to recommendations). My ph feels a little too high, so I’m adding some botanicals (though I know they won’t lower it heaps, but I have quite hard water and hope to soften it)
