We have a lot of St. Augustine and a lot of weeds. I want to remove the Bradford Pear tree and add two Live Oaks… somewhere.

There is a patch of dirt/old mulch here from the previous owners between the basement storm door and the porch. We do need access to the water spigot, so I don’t want to put anything here that would block it too much, and I’m also nervous about wires/water pipes underground this close to the house.
What would you put here?

We were so tired of our Chinese elm being so hard too maintain, we hired an arborist to cut it bald. Now I’m worried it won’t regrow lol
It’s been 24 hours since the cut and I’m regretting it…make me feel better

First time walking down here since fall, so I’m not sure how long they’ve been this way but the branches are all dead along the chain link fence. Is there any way we can salvage these?

Hey y’all I just moved in and wanted to start my own garden in the bed, but it’s filled with young saplings and other debris. I wanna keep the tree in the outside of the bed but what recommendation do y’all have to clear this out?

I am underway putting in a paver patio. I am in the Syracuse, NY area so we can get terrible winters. I am thinking of doing a concrete bond beam as a edger restraint that is reinforced. I can’t find much info out there showing depth/size of the concrete pour. It would be about 165 feet in length. Base has been built with 6”-1’ of #2 stone, 7-12” of crusher run limestone, and I am laying the pavers on 1/4” 1A angular gravel to promote drainage.
Thank you to any hardscape people who can provide some detail or guidance.

I’m looking for advice on how to promote growth on my laurel shrubs. They are currently around 2-3 feet tall. Should I be pinching the flowers? In the photo they are circled in red.

I had a landscaping/tree trimming company come out to look at this large overgrown juniper that is growing over the sidewalk. They recommend getting it removed since the previous owners never maintained it and trying to trim it back now would cause it look bad with the branches being as thick as they are. Any ideas of what I should put in it's place? Preferably lower maintenance. I'm in the Midwest if anyone is trying to recommend specific plants.
I'm currently thinking of removing all of the rocks underneath, then mulching and cleaning up the edges of the bed. Im also considering gettin ..read more
