I work for a US based small business with suppliers in China. Currently we import parts EXW from China to the US and pay a 28.5% tariff, then we ship EXW to customers in the EU from the US. We are looking to streamline the logistics and avoid the tariff, since the product's final destination/end use is not in the US. We are considering three options. Drop ship to a 3PL in the EU from China. This seems like a logical first step for parts which do not require further alteration. Our product would not require repacking, but may require relabeling of outer cartons. We are wondering if this is p ..read more

Hello all, I'm sure many of you have been doing drayage for years so would love some advice here. My strategy is to come into my market area cheap and lose money to start in order to build clients. I'm pulling containers for 3 clients so far and was basically willing to charge them whatever price got them to switch to me. Obviously, i am currently either breaking even or losing on these jobs. Is this a sustainable strategy? Will clients be willing to pay more after a year or will they just find a new drayage guy if i try to raise the price at that point? Any advice would be appreciated. subm ..read more

I have purchased 3 pieces of furniture with a reputable supplier. I have been asked: "Could you please provide us with the necessary certificates and photos to facilitate the customs clearance process? All identity documents such as ID cards, driver's licenses, and passports are acceptable for customs clearance. " "Local customs require these documents for goods release. Your customs are quite stringent. We would appreciate your timely cooperation. " I have purchased these through DDP method and am receiving in AUSTRALIA. My understanding that all is sorted through the shipper. all i require ..read more
