GiddyGang – Bizarre (ft. Vuyo, Mushiva, Ivan Ave)

In a true GiddyGang / Vuyo collab fashion, their latest sonic offering is nothing short of jaw-dropping. The Oslo-based artists invite hip hop legend Ivan Ave and Berlin-based Namibian street poet Mushiva for 3 minutes packed with jazz, soul, ambient, and of course flawless bars. I love the spaced-out keys underlying the whole composition. While I don’t do it often, there were a few times I tried to just isolate them while listening and let them soak in. That would make a great ambient track! Now back to the whole picture. Everything feels right in its place and the addition of Mushiva (who i ..read more

Misha – Satellites (ft. Blake Anthony, Monma, Shaqdi)

Misha never takes a break! A little over a month after his sophomore solo album Radiant (which featured names like Amber Navran of Moonchild, Reva DeVito, Katori Walker), he’s back with new fire. Keeping the “not taking a break” rhetoric, his new single “Satellites” is punchy from the first second, with amazing pulsating synths, solid drums, and stellar flow. Here, Misha is joined by US rapper Blake Anthony & London singer Shaqdi, with additional production from another Finnish legend, Monma. “Satellites” is both groovy & somehow soothing, just the right balance between hip-hop, soul ..read more

In a day and age where algorithms control what we see and hear, music becomes a commodity and art AI-driven, it is a breath of fresh air to know there are friends like Jake and Tim who channel their appreciation for each other into music that’s designed to move you. The 2 artists bottle the essence of being comfortable with someone into a captivating & thought-provoking and sonic experience. I am utterly excited to share with you the second single from their upcoming LP Diversions scheduled for released on May 24th on our label. Easily my favorite beat on the album, “Sodas” is both chill ..read more

Kasbo – Resenären

Now this is fascinating. It’s rare to hear melodic house paired up with the somewhat new phenomenon of stutter house, yet Kasbo has elegantly executed this on his newest track “Resenären”. “Resenären” is one of the lead singles off Kasbo’s upcoming album, and it means “the traveler” in Swedish which is quite reflective of the experience we’re acquainted with. This is a sonic journey where we travel through bright, vibrant soundscapes that offer a range of surprises from start to finish. While the track spans 7 minutes, my favorite section is the chorus, distinguished by the stuttering vocals ..read more

Massane – Back Together (Angara Remix)

The melodic splendor we’re welcomed to on Angara’s rendition of Massane’s “Back Together” honestly makes this one of my favorite melodic house tracks of the year! Last year we spoke with Massane about the release of his debut body of work By the River, and recently, the remixes were finally unveiled. It was beautiful to not only see Angara on there, but also to hear them deliver a masterpiece that’s minimal yet emotionally rich. The catchy, luminous lead serves as an apparatus they’ve used to snatch our attention and firmly hold it with care. Towards the end, they’ve enlivened the track with ..read more

I won’t get tired of saying this – the UK scene has some really special magic to it. Here comes another unique find, South London singer Elsa (who was also part of BBC Introducing’s latest showcase). Her latest release “Better Days”, a song about taking a deserved break, has an appealing haziness & delicate drawl in the vocals that simply put you in a dream state. This is all supported by cinematic strings, a wonderful drum groove & warm guitars. Elsa was the pick of Global Soul’s latest show which you should definitely check below: The post Elsa – Better Days appeared first on Ster ..read more

Amtrac – Interstate

Amtrac’s latest track “Interstate” inspires listeners to close their eyes and immerse themselves into the lush soundscapes laid out for us in this experience. For over a decade, Amtrac has ushered in a garden-fresh brand of house/dance music that infuses spacey textures and live instrumentation. “Interstate” reminds us of earlier singles such as “Just” and I love that sense of familiarity. It feels like we’re buried underneath multiple layers of synths here as “Interstate” is dense with glossy textures and accompanied by the presence of a burly bass. This allows us to lose ourselves in the mo ..read more

Monoko – Endings

From the melodic arrangements to the textures, Monoko has crafted a track that unites us with a sense of depth and melancholy. The Belgium-based producer started releasing music last year, and in a short period of time he has landed on numerous editorial playlists and made a name for himself with his distinct sound. On “Endings”, I adored the glittery lead floating across the mix. It not only breathes life into the track but it sets a moody soundscape that is further complemented by the emotive, Burial-esque vocals in the backdrop. Towards the end, “Endings” is fleshed out by distant pads and ..read more

What a blissful way to end a busy and stressful day. A beat inspired by the greats – Cookin Soul, Knxwledge, Mndsgn, and The Alchemist. I wish there’s some intel I can share with you when it comes to Chaipo, but it seems to be very scarce. That being said, his 6-track beat collection Lo-Fi Salad, Vol. 3 is definitely a great way to ease your mind. Rosa Landers – Garçonnière

Hearing Rosa Landers’ “Garçonnière” for the first time felt like a magical trip that made the rest of the world disappear. I felt as if I was walking through the Sahara under the burning sun. A worthy follow-up to her mind-blowing track “Raised” which I covered back in March. An actor, singer, and guitarist, Rosa Landers is a new name we should all be excited about. The song is taken from her debut 3-track EP Raised released via Lekker Collective. This mindful collection provides a glimpse into the thoughts of the Berlin-based artist, drifting through realms akin to a dream. Within this music ..read more
