Eaquals, a leading association in language education, has concluded another fruitful international conference in Lisbon, exploring topics such as AI and leadership. Taking place from 11-13 April, the conference set out to address key areas in language education. Oxford University Press has waded into the advanced English language space by launching a new online test for language learners. The Oxford Test of English Advanced for CEFR B2 to C1 learners is certified and recognised by the University of Oxford and will be available to “unlock global opportunities”. The University of Chester was crowned international university of the year at the 2024 Whatuni Student Choice Awards in London on April 24. The institution in northern England beat off competition from nine other shortlisted finalists in the international category. China’s international education relationships with Australia and Canada are markedly improving, but there isn’t yet a window for them to supersede UK and US collaboration with the country, stakeholders have said. The study travel industry is set to boost the Welsh economy by £13 million by 2027, as IALC supports the Welsh government’s goal to welcome over one million international visitors annually.
