Goodness. It’s been a WHILE since I wrote a blog post. This has been a crazy year to say the least. I discovered Hook & Harbor Co. on Instagram a few months ago and have loved watching this new designer build out her line. When I checked out her Etsy store, I knew I had to have her Wizard Glasses ornament. It arrived promptly last week. I couldn’t wait to get started on it, so I snuck the project in between projects for work. I love her wizard letter and cook book canvases too! It’s a relatively small ornament- only 3″ in diameter on 13 count canvas. I’m planning on having Needlepoint.Com finish it with a gusset and their signature gold hook so it really pops out on our tree. Today on ..read more

Dallas Market is always one of my favorite events of the year. For the last three years, I’ve had the privilege of working with the Kirk & Bradley girls in their booth at the show. Without a doubt, it’s a long and exhausting five days, but I wouldn’t miss it for anything. There is so much that goes into making a show happen behind the scenes- from months of design planning, tracking and packing inventory, setup and tear down of the room- the list goes on and on! If you’ve been reading along for a while, you all may remember a few years back when I was stitching this incredible Kirk and Bradley Nativity for Needlepoint.Com’s Raleigh Retreat.  To this day, it is still one of my favorite pieces I have ever stitched. If you’ve been reading along for a while you will know how much I love Tess’s line Pewter and Pine. Not only is Tess as sweet as she can be, she is such a talented designer. When I saw Abigail Cecile’s latest release of designs I knew I HAD to stitch this Scandinavian Santa. There’s just something about him! I think it’s partially the beautiful and vibrant colors he’s painted in. (That blue his bag of toys is painted in is one of my all time favorite colors). But also the sweet simplicity of the design itself. When the canvas came into the store I couldn’t put it down. I think I had the whole ornament finished in a day and a half. I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for this darling geometric clutch to come back from the finisher, and I’m so excited it’s finally here! It’s going to be the perfect little clutch bag for dinners out this summer. After I stitched it, we decided to kit a limited number and turn it into an online class.  I just love the fabric colors Amy, who is the head of finishing at Needlepoint.Com, picked out to go with the stitching.
