Without question, one of the highlights of the 2022 wedding season. Katie & Lorcan’s wedding / festival / garden party took place at the amazing Trudder Lodge in Co. Wicklow. A venue, if there ever was one, that lends itself to a good old party. Katie and Lorcan tied the knot in front of family and friends under a 500 year old Oak tree. The couple's children took part in the ceremony, making it that much more personal. From the stunning location to the delicious food and drink, everything was perfect. The atmosphere was electric, and the entertainment was fantastic. A cool group of people ..read more

I could write loads of things about how wonderful Sue & Emma’s day was. Full of character & laughs on a sunny day in the heart of Dublin. I just felt privileged to be asked to be there with them all. If anyone knows me best as as a wedding photographer, it’s Emma. She’s seen me in action many times. At my best and worst. Despite of this, her and Sue still asked me to join them! A big warm thank you to the 5 of them for the pleasure ..read more

Victoria + Bryce : Westcove House Wedding

While the 2019 season is kicking off, I’m still looking back to all the amazing times I had with couples in 2018. One of the things that I’ll never take for granted is just how honoring it is to be asked to join couples on their wedding day. To be an onlooker into one of the most important days of their lives. To see the coming together of families & friends, to participate in a small way. Victoria + Bryce chose the wilds of Kerry for their coming together, the beautiful Westcove House to be exact. They had a very personal humanist ceremony, a hog roast for the meal and then danced the nig ..read more

Showreel 2019/2020

In case there’s any confusion, I’m not exactly the typical wedding photographer. At least, I don’t do what you might expect a typical wedding photographer does at weddings. There’s no engineering of moments, no taking off for 2 hours while your guests enjoy themselves without you, no drama, no fuss…no pressure. The reason why I’m pointing this out is simple, I want couples to be clear on what they get when they hire me to be with them on their wedding. In the showreel below, I’ve been careful to choose images that represent what I do at weddings, and who I am as a wedding photographer. Highest ..read more

Brinleigh + Shane : Cloughjordan House Wedding

Wedding venues are a little like buses, you wait for years to work at one, then all of a sudden, you’ve been there twice within 4 weeks. That’s what happened with me and Cloughjordan House. I’ve been seeing and hearing such great things about Cloughjordan House over the years, but for some reason or another I’d never had the opertunity to work there myself. Well, 2018 was the year Cloughjordan House and I met. My first trip there was for Rose & Stephen’s amazing party in June, then only a couple of weeks later I was back for Brinleigh and Shane’s celebration. A wedding with THREE 1st dance ..read more

I don’t normally do these pre-wedding shoots, but have to admit enjoying doing them when the opportunity comes along. This is Kate & Brian and they’re getting married in November. They thought getting some photos in the summer would be a nice idea. We took a spin around my Co. Wicklow neighborhood, had a good laugh and took some photos. Looking forward to seeing them again in November ..read more

This past weekend I had the pleasure of visiting one of my favorite wedding venues,  Ballinacurra House in Kinsale, co. Cork. Every visit to Ballinacurra House is special. I've been there a few times, and every time I come away impressed with how genuinely nice the staff are. Each and every person is smiling and you get a true sense of a venue that has friendly service as one of it's core strengths. This past weekend was Kate + Adam's wedding and it was amazing fun. Kate & Adam where full of laughs and enjoyed their day to the fullest. I hope to feature Kate + Adam's wedding at a latt ..read more

Caoimhe's Veil

Over the years, we here at Savo Photography have had the privilege of photographing some pretty special dresses, veils, head-pieces and other fine pieces of ornamentation. We were however, rather blown away by one particular spectacular veil - A truly glorious hand-stitch Carrickmacross  Lace veil to be precise.Every stitch made by the amazingly talented bride herself! Take a well-deserved bow - Caoimhe Woods. (Not only did Caoimhe stitch her own veil, she also stitched the handkerchiefs for her lovely groom, Eamonn, and all the groomsmen to boot!) Now, if you are a bride-to-be and fancy ..read more

I won’t lie, 2020 hasn’t been chalk full of wedding highlights. We all know it’s been a strange ol’ year, so no surprises there. Now, lets imagine an alternate reality where 2020 was a year overflowing with wedding goodness. Got it? In that alternate 2020, Sue & Emma’s wedding would still be at the top of the list of my favorite days. In fact Sue & Emma’s wedding is a decade spanning highlight. I’m willing to bet the majority of people reading this already know Emma. For those who do not, Emma is a very talented and highly respected videographer and with good reason, one of the best k ..read more

I think we all can agree there’s no shortage of prestigious wedding venues in Ireland. Coming somewhere towards the top of that list is Adare Manor. It really has it all in buckets. Beautiful buildings, stunning gardens to explore, a history to amaze and charm around every corner. As soon as you drive in the giant gates, you can not help but feel you’re somewhere special. I have no doubt Katie and Kevin felt that something special when they decided to hold their wedding at the Adare Manor, and a venue this special, definitely lends itself to the most special of days. Here’s just a small select ..read more
