Common suction trap?

Is it okay to use 1 trap for 2 evaporators? Installed where the suction lines T and go up (riser)? Or is it better practice to have both evaps have a dedicated trap? Total distance from evaps to roof is probably like 15 feet. submitted by /u/Coilthawer [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Good evening everyone, I’m a Service Tech of just now 2 years in the Trade. I did mostly Supermarket Refrigeration: Parallel Racks, and some Commercial HVAC up to 25 Ton York Units. Now I have just switched over to mostly Heavy Commercial HVAC with a Local UA Hall. Just today, I got to see a site that has Chillers in person for the first time. Please suggest Books, Guides, YouTube Videos, even PDF’s I can find, on Chillers, Water-Source Heat Pumps, SWUD’s, Cooling Towers, Intellipaks, to name a few, to help me get the Basics of those Equipment down. Right now, I’m in soak almost anything and ..read more

I’m working on a r290 lowboy here is the pressures when I tapped into it , I added some r290 to verify it’s leak and not restricted , there was ice buildup in the cap tube / inlet of the evap. I could not find leak even after removing all insulation. I don’t trust company provided leak detector , would I be able to add small amount of 134a to use my dtek stratus ? submitted by /u/Spirited-Month1359 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Where do you guys get oem parts? True, traulsen, hoshi, etc? I use partstown, global commercial, rhs, sometime amazon, and more often I just ask my local wholesale refer house to “just get it”. But prices and availability seem to vary widely. Anyone have any good spots? submitted by /u/No_Negotiation_5537 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How do I determine the charge on a compressed air drier? Its a capillary system with a hot gas bypass to maintain evap temp above freezing. I would assume it would be a weighed in charge but there is no weight listed. Any ideas? submitted by /u/thenew444 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
