A new study explores whether or not diabetes is less likely to be associated with unfavorable outcomes in twin pregnancies compared with singleton pregnancies. The study was published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. A Turkish study looks at Vanishing Twin Syndrome and whether or not there could be a genetic reason behind it. The study was published in the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics. The researchers looked at a possible link to methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) polymorphisms. The MTHFR gene provides instructions for making an enzyme called methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase. It has many important functions.
